This is the first hand I have posted on FTR, so please forgive me if I make mistakes, and point me in the right direction by all means. Thank you.

Sorry about missing the reads. I have none on anyone, I have just shipped my bankroll , or most of it, from Full Tilt, to Stars. This was one of the first hands I played.

Thanks for the response.

I'd raise 4bb preflop at 10NL and bet closer to pot on the flop, you want to charge the draws and it decreases the chance of getting raised. If the guy is passive or a nit, the turn is an easy fold, if he's more the aggressive type, I'd reraise the flop, now it's just a guessing game.

edit: without some read, just fold the turn - most of these guys don't raise their draws or TP hands.

if you don't have any reads, folding here is not a huge mistake.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

Yeah, I have already started rasing 4x BB. Thanks.

As played, do I fold the flop re raise ? I only have around 3 hands on this guy, so I have no idea what kind of player he is.

Bet the flop closer to full pot. You played it well besides that. Fold the turn.

You can call because if he's raising some weaker hand or air he's probably giving up and checking the turn.

will641 is on a distinguished road
seeing as youre oop and hes stacking off with a fairly wide range i would just as well 3-bet the flop.

Thanks for the responses. Much appreciated.

I did fold the turn, will put the rest of the HH on when I am back on my own PC.

There was a time not so long ago, I would have re raised him on the flop. Problem being once you have re raised his re raise, you are all but pot committed, or at least I found myself thinking that. So now I am a little more cautious, which I'm not sure is actually helping my game.

At least now I know how to fold an over pair

Will's spot on, he's stacking off wide enough to profitably 3bet JJ on the flop and get the money in. It's a spot where you just have to suck up the variance sometimes, open up pokerstove afterwards, and analyze if it's a spot where you're spewing.

except I didn't have reads even halfway through my thread, I just had a conversation with the guy after the hand which doesn't qualify as a read
