Preflop: Hero is SB with J, J. Hero posts a blind of $0.10.
UTG calls $0.25, 5 folds, Hero (poster) raises to $1.00, BB calls $0.75, UTG calls $0.75.

I often check since a better hand almost never calls, your hand isn't easily outdrawn, and for "metagame" purposes.

Betting out has a tendency to turn your hand into 72o here. Although with such a disjoint Kxx flop, you might have a lot of fold equity. This is a big "it depends."
