I have a question about implied odds vs rock.

Say you are playing vs a rock that is tight and very passive.
This person raises before the flop early position.
You put them on AK, AQ, AA, KK, QQ, JJ.
You are like 95% sure they have one of those six starting hands cuz you have been watching them.

Now you have 77 on the button and everybody folds and you call say 4 BB.

The flop is T 7 3 with no flush draw.

Is it really worth it, or should you be calling moslty vs TAGs and LAGs ???

Many times these people are so conservative that you are lucky to even half stack em.

Any thoughts here. Thanks.

If he really is a rock he's probably betting half the pot or more into you on the turn given those circumstances (except with the AQ or possibly, depending on how rocky he is, the AK). If you substantially reraise him he will fold. I reraise anyway 'cuz any significant chips you can get from a rock are hard earned.
Those who wander are often actually lost.

nh Renton. I'm curious, was it a HUD read or a "real" one? If the former, what were his stats?

the hud read was that villain was a solid tag regular. I simply knew that most solid tag regs would fold overpairs there.
