I played a rebuy tournament for the first time yesterday on PP. It were only a $1 rebuy and i noticed that one of the players at my table was doing the following almost every hand.

PF: Villain puts in a 3 or 4XBB raise. As the blinds were low he was almost always getting at least 2 callers

Flop: Regardless of the cards, villain pushes AI.

Usually everyone would fold, then after the pot had headed his way, he suddenly had another 3000 chips on top of those in the pot. He was pushing AI and then opting to rebuy when all his chips were in the middle, and the software was letting him get away with it. So after about 30 mins he had a stack that was 8 times the starting amount. When i called him up on it, he replied "That's how you're supposed to play rebuys". Surely to god this isn't legal?

Yea sounds like hes exploiting a loophole there but his "strategy" sounds pretty exploitable in itself. Limp alot with him and start calling his pushes with top pair.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?

he's paying money to get the stack, this isn't a problem. As Pelion said, he's giving you plenty of chances to get a nice stack going. Hooray!

I miss party.

Just so you know, your comment tagged you as a fish for every aware player at the table.

Ha, i think my shonky post-flop play tagged me as a fish long before i cottoned on to this manouever

I still think it's a bit of a shady move though. Is this something that you can pull on any site, or is it specific to Party? If you were at a live tourney, could you push all your chips in and then ask to rebuy before the end of the hand?
