Inside the poker mind - John Feeney (I'm reading this now, love it, very good for NLHE)
Supersystem 1 and 2 - Doyle Brunson (fundamentals for all forms of poker)
Elements of Poker - Tommy Angelo (orderring it, everyone who's read it says it's the bomb)
Professional Poker: The Essential guide to playing for a living - Mark Blade (this is actually the first book I read, taught me a lot on the lifestyle and dedication of a pro and money management... really motivted me to put in a lot of effort to become better)

this is just imo ofc

i have never read a poker book cos i decided that it's not +EV. If you're playing low stakes, you're better off saving the cost of the book and putting it into your poker bankroll or using it to buy poker tracker once you've gone through the trial 60 day (?) period.

Maybe I'm wrong

In my opinion:
The best way to learn poker by reading:

read all the stickies in the SNG, MTT, Beginner, NHLE Strategy, Short Handed and Full Ring forums and you've probably covered more than any book. And it's free. And if you have any questions you can post them here, quoting the relevant thread - and you'll get quality answers.

Then read the top 50 threads in the forum that relates to the game you're playing. Then post hands.

LuckySlevin is an unknown quantity at this point
and also google the book your looking for and perhaps be a bit creative with your search terms, poker authors are fairly rich so the morals of reading their book for free don't bother me that much (an argument that stands up to no form of attack I know but what the heck...)

A couple of the top books sugested here you can find online with a bit of creative searching!

I have a bunch of poker books I bought at Gamblers Book Club in Las Vegas, havent even got to most of them yet. Gary Carson's book on hold em is good for a beginner; SUPER SYSTEM 1 and 2 are very interesting, but it seems like they are more for high stakes players. I got Negranu's new book, and was disappointed with it because it's geared towards tournaments. plus, new books come out all the time, I think I'll just play a bunch of poker for now and save more books for later. Good Luck.

I just bought and am about half way through Professional No-Limit Hold em, as suggested through this thread: http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...rs-t72489.html

it has a lot of good concepts for a cash game player and I am enjoying it thus far. G0ogle for some reviews of books, there's a lot to chose from.
