villain has 3b me 3 times prior. Once was unknown, 2nd was with AKs oop and he 2 barreled pot then like 3/4th, 3rd was with QQ and bet to get it in on the turn.

i hate 4betting pre since we're 200bbs deep and im oop against someone whos 3b range seems pretty tight.
flop: hes more than capable of cbetting and double barreling in 3b pots, c/c standard?
turn: i couldnt really see what he was doing here. like, a range is AK, AQ, TT+ or so. AQ/AK fucked or split...KK, QQ, AA fucked, he probably doesnt double barrel JJ/TT 100% of the time and im not sure how often he 3bets TT to begin with, so c/f standard?

if his 3b range is tight as you say (let's say AK, JJ+), then why would you ever flat OOP? seems to me the only way you ever make money is if the flop comes like A72 and he decides to cbet it with JJ even though he's in position so there's no need for him to do that. and even then you only get one street of value.
seems to me like flatting OOP against a tight range means that you always lose/split to AK, sometimes get one street of value out of JJ,QQ but usually either c/f flop or spew and get pwned by AA, KK.
as played c/f flop because the only thing we beat is JJ (if he has that in his range) and KK and why would either of those hands cbet on this board?

Stop calling 3-bets OOP for fuck's sake.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

If we're in a situation where villain is going to play his range face up or w/e is calling really all that bad?

Are you talking about in general or do you mean in this hand? Because we're playing vs. a balanced range in this hand.

sorry kmind I mean in general.
so you're saying when we face a balanced range OOP we're essentially going to get owned if we're calling, wheras if villain was 3betting too much and was unbalanced we could get away with calling? Like what if we hold TT or JJ oop facing someone who's 3betting like 8-10% in late position but won't felt worse preflop? If we open in like MP and the aggro 3bettor re-raises us from but BU or CO certainly folding isn't an option, but 4betting seems bad unless we had pushed him to the point where he's 5bet bluffing us.

i think i gravely overestimated my implied odds here. i was thinking that i wasnt too bad (though behind) opps range but that if i hit id get a good amount from him.
obv, i figured out that wasnt the case and can totally see the arguements for not calling oop here.
lets change it though
suppose instead i had KQs, now im further behind opp's range, but im more likely to hit a strong hand due to the more opportunities for straight and flush draws. Considering we're deep, would this be ok given that i know he'll 2 barrel with most of his range?

Villain's 3bet range looks pretty solid from those 2 hands that were mentioned.
With KQs,i wont really open it UTG+1.If i do,and i get 3bet from Villain.I would certainly call this purely because our hand has a huge equity(opportunities for straight n flushes) when we flop hard, and we're deep.Although we're oop, being deep compensates for it sometimes
As played with AK hand,i'll fold pf if you are not able to play it properly postflop.I dont mind raise/folding here.If you c/c the flop,i think you should be calling the turn-its an obvious blank.
