Unregister and take the T$ and sell it off. There is no way your BR is large enough to warrant losing $215. You can't think of it a "freeroll" since you won the seat. You now have $215 you are entitled to, and to play thereby putting up $215 is not smart on your sized BR.

I am so torn here...I think my game is going pretty well right now but these players are on a whole different level. Stax is right as it would add 25% to my br but would the experience gained be worth it?

My advice would be to play in the tournament and win. Then, use the winnings to buy a nice house. Heh, wouldn't that be nice? I keed. Take the money. Don't put up that much money against good competition and coin flips.

It's an easy no brainer.. There is no way you can justify risking 25% of your BR on what is basically a coinflip, one in which you are neither rolled for and are likely not +EV in.

You can prob hit up some of the irc tourney players and they will most likely buy the T$.

you don't have to sell the ticket if you're a tourney player, just make sure you unregisted from the tournament and you can use the t$ in the future to buy into sng's or tournaments.

If you're a cash game player you're going to want to sell it, probably at some discount rate, like 95-98% meaning they'll ship you ~$205 cash for the t$215.

Risking large percent of BR in a tourney where you are probably -ev is not a smart idea.

What was your plan when you entered the sat? That is what I would do. Sure, selling it is the prudent thing to do, but when will you get another chance at this. If you won a seat to the WSOP would you sell the package for $9500? Play solid tourney poker and you might cash ITM. And who knows, you might Moneymaker that mothafugger!

Sell it. Think of what it will do to your bankroll vs the chance of you making any money is on this kind of tourney. Follow BR management!

just play and be like chris moneymaker!

in all serious, sell the ticket. that option far outweighs your seat because you dont have the right BRM or the skill edge against the field

Ok, Im not going to sell the ticket, just use it for other tourney buy ins...

And yes I would sell the WSOP package but odds are if I am trying to sat. into that. I personally would have the br to keep the ticket. HOWEVER 9.8k is a good br boost

I don't get it. I mean do what you want, but to me this is silly (unless it was a free satellite). Whatever the cost of this satty, there is a S&G or MTT with the same buy in. Only when you win those, you can do whatever you want with the winnings. You can withdraw it, or play other tourneys, or play cash games even. The only reason to pay to play a satty to a bigger event is to actually play the bigger event at a lower cost. That's why I asked what was your plan when you entered the satellite. Again, if it was one of those freeroll thingies, you can't go wrong either way. It's not a big deal. Congrats on your win.

I'm a 2nl donk with intending to branch into MTT's. (ie my advice is probably bad)

But shit i would play the sunday millions... (after some more tourney practice). Yes its -ev, but you could consider it a splashout style risk-taking-reward for all your +ev grinding.

edit: using the $T for other buy ins is a much better idea.

This is simple: If you are serious about poker you sell the T$, if you are a gambler you play the game.

Just my two cents but....

I'd play it, if I were in your shoes. I would look at it as though it's like finding 215 bucks on the ground, and going out that night and blowing it. Might be a bad comparison or example but that's how I would see it.

I would rather play, and get destroyed, and at the same time experience it, and try to learn something and benefit from it.

And you never know what could happen do you? No one does. You could run really good that day for all you know. I would much rather try and fail, and learn from it, then to wonder what might have happened. One good day and you might have a much bigger BR. If you bust out and don't even make it ITM, is it really that big of a loss?

Guess I see this a lot differently than anyone else hehe.

I won a ticked once and traded it in for t$. Doesnt take long playing SNGs to convert it to real $.

I also played a sunday million with a ticket purchased with FPP. I busted out after the first hour when my pocket queens were smashed my pocket 6's flopping quads.

I didnt really care for the the blind structure of the sunday million. Dont think i will play another till the buyin is just a buyin of the ring game level i am playing.

SWEET character from a SWEET game.

That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.
