BB is a loos-ish passive-ish typical low stakes fish.

We raise in the CO with 66. BB calls. Flop comes

BB checks to us, we cbet and he calls.

The turn brings the Kd

:Kd:

At his point his range is

a) Lots of drawy stuff that will call a bet.
b) Lots of 78, 9T, 77 type stuff that beats us, but folds to a bet.
c) A relatively small amount of stuff that beats us and never folds.

So if we bet here we are pretty much dividing his range into 2 parts, and we are bluffing the stuff we are behind while getting value from the stuff we are ahead of. Thats a pretty big fundamental theory win for us.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

Yeah I like it. I think the K is a great card to second barrel with cause a lot of their range is weak pair hands that are only calling one street and the king gives them a great reason to fold.

yes, but we need to bet that K when we have it, too, imo. that sells our bluffs even harder by making them believable.

There are a lot of spots where a bet does this and gives you very useful info.

this depends on villian and stakes alot. Obv if villain is a huge station hes not folding any 9/8 and depending on how aggro your image is most thinking villains are atleast calling a turn bet with decent 9's, especially at mid/high stakes. But good thinking overall and it illustrates why its profitable to 2 barrel cards like this.

This is definately not true, at least not 100 %. There are alot of players who will fold to a bet, but bet/bluff if checked to.

i didnt say you need to do it ALL the time. i said if you are going to rep the K, you need to have it quite often, too. you never do anything 100%, i think we all know that.

if you have AK, and cbet the flop, but hit the turn, how often are you checking here (with the flush draw up) to induce a bet? i think that most times we think, "i'm ahead now. time for value."

some players will bluff in this spot, but check when they hit the turn. i have several players "noted" as such. it makes them VERY exploitable when they bet this board. and it makes them easy to avoid when they check it and give the free cards.

Against a thinking opponent yes. Against most low stakes fish no. Dont start counter-adjusting until they start adjusting.

one of my biggest problems at my stakes. i think ahead of my villains, and give them credit for being smarter than they are. hence, i am only out-thinking myself.

i swear sometimes i look in the mirror, point at that douchebag, and say, "pwned!!"
