The other day I was playing heads up alot and I was doing awesomely. But I ran into two players that gave me some trouble.

The first player was incredibly easy to read. I always knew when I could buy the pot even if I had nothing or if I was beat. I could place him on pocket pairs (hi or low) or on J's off the flop or anything. The trouble was, I couldn't win a whole lot of money from him. he'd never call too big of a raise even with top pair. and I was down at that point trying to earn my money back , but I couldn't becuase he would constantly fold. How do I get some money from this type of person?

The other guy was incredibly aggressive. I don't have to much trouble with agressive people at all, in fact I find them easier than conservative people, but heads up, this guy would raise and re-raise and re-raise and re-raise over and over again with a 64os or with JJ. and this is just preflop. He would constantly raise all the time. he would raise to the river if he didn't have anything and the only way I could tell if he had something was if he re-raise my re-raise which by that point is pointless becuase I've already lost money. I would mix it up really well. I would check to the river with two pair and hope for him to Bet (sometimes he did, sometimes he didn't) or I would bet on the flop, or I would check on the flop and bet on the turn. Its safe to say that with all of the stuff I was doing, he never new what I had, but he would raise and raise and raise anyways. It seem s like the only time he didn't bet or raise was when i had an AWESOME hand.

can anyone help?

oh and also, I was thinking about starting another thread but whatever. I have trouble in live action games trying to hide my tells, any tips?

***i'm assuming a heads-up tourney here, NOT the final two in a full table SNG***

this has been bouncing around my brain lately. this type of player doesn't bluff much, and will only risk a good amount of chips if they think they have you beat (not a bad approach ). so how about this:

- play a little bit looser initially and go to some showdowns on some small pots even if you think you'll lose
- chase a little bit on missed flops - e.g. show your KQ at a small pot showdown when you've got nothing but K high
- when you finally do get a good hand (probably better than top pair) like a well disguised two pair, TRAP him! don't bet too big, but escalate your bets on each street.

the point is to give the idea that you're still chasing, and gosh if you didn't get lucky and catch a hand.

you can either be patient and hope you'll get play when you finally hit a hand, or start pushing back. you don't want to be a maniac, but if you're too afraid of losing chips, an aggressive rags raiser cough ripptyde cough will walk all over you. i try to take an approach somewhat in the middle - i'm not going to wait for premium hand to push back, but i usually won't do it with crap either.
i hate what i have become to escape what i hated being...

Sounds like the first player was Tanaka, and the second player was Rippy.
