If i have xx pocket pair and see a paired board, like 773 or 884 or AA9 am I generally in good shape?

In other words, If I have pocket pair (like 88)
Is it better to see paired board or three different cards?

I know undercards/overcards come into play but generally which is better? does it make much difference?

generally i'd be happier to see 44K than KK4 if i have a pocket pair only because its much more likely someone has a lone king than a lone 4 or anyother baby card for that matter

its less likely statistically for someone to have one of the paired cards if two are already on the board

It is this reason why I would rather see KK4 than 44K if I have a mid pocket pair. With a flop like 44K there is a greater chance that I am behind a holding like KQ, KJ, etc.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

Agreed. These guys at the lower limits love to play any king or ace from any position. If you have 88 etc you are in bad shape.
Sometimes the nuts just get crushed

Paired boards if you hold a PP are great if you're up vs. obvious c-bettors.

(Just don't overplay it like I do.. )
