Hi there

I am playing on stars but I am starting to questioning my play. I am playing microstakes , or 1.2 buyin. I had about 44 dollars inside my account and after that everything started to fall apart. I am wondering, whats wrong with me or is this just a bad luck of downswings. I want to improve and signed up for grinderschool. and am learning many things there. But I am starting to question my play. What shall I do to improve but as I have said, I have lost 7 times in a row and dont know what to do. I get into bad beats often and sometimes my play is just ridiculous. I will post hand histories later tomorrow or the next day. Please be kind and tell me what to do. I'm seriously thinking about quitting playing if I dont get profit. I have right now 26 dollars and about 22 games to improve. Please help me and my frustration.

Best Regards.

Hi, you are playing SnG's i guess. You can find a lot of good information in SnG section. Reading the sticky, SnG Tactics Digest, may change your whole mindset, if you have not read it already. Also there are a lot of good advices in Poker Articles...

Also, i think that if you choose the right decesion in every single spot it still is not a big surprise to loose 7 SnGs in a row. Don't be worried about it.

(1) Go to the SNG section and read the articles. They are there to help.

(2) Post those HHs in the SNG section when you do come back, as that section is designed to improve SNG players, and that is where the best SNG players reside (they are weird and don't venture into the BC often imo.. lol donk-in-gos!).

(3) SNGs do contain a fair amount of variance, so yes, you can play perfectly for numerous games and still have lost money during that short timeframe.

(4) You didn't play perfectly. If you think that skill level is 100% directly correlated to profits, then you are sorely mistaken. You can win when you play bad, and lose when you play good over short timeframes (which you have a ways before you exit). Because of this, it shouldn't matter what your results are just yet, you should be trying to improve.

(5) To improve, go download the free trial of SNG Wizard. It's a SNG program that helps individuals learn 10bb play, which will arise very often in the mid-later stages of SNG. And practically due to such programs, SNGs are on the cusp of being 'solved'.
