Ok so I've decided it's time for a HU tourney again for the lesser ones among us. It'll pretty much be open to anyone, it's just that the BI will likely be to low to interest the ballers. I'm thinking $15 to start off with and we'll only raise or lower this if we're not getting a good enough volume of people this suits. When you reply say "in."
The format will be as follows:
A knockout tournament with either 16 or 32 entrants dependant on numbers. If we need to settle somewhere in between we can use bys.
Games will be NLH played as a best of 3 tables with a sort of sng format with 200bbs of play money on stars and no blind increases. The final will be a best of 5.
I'm happy to take entrance fees for people paying by stars if that's cool, but someone else will need to do it for FT if possible.
We'll be aiming to play a round per week, begining on the Monday and finshing by the Sunday.
Shipping
When you ship the entrance fee on stars please ship to Carroters (Glasgow)
When you ship on FT, please ship to BooG690 (Elmont)
*$15 has now been confirmed as the amount so ship away.*
Prize pool
I'm open to discussion about this but we'll probably pay the top 3 with 16 with a 3rd place play-off something like:
1st: $120
2nd: $75
3rd: $45
With 29 we'll do:
1st: $220
2nd: $110
3rd: $65
4th: $40
K folks get registering IMO. This is obv just a draft so if anyone has any other suggestions I'm open to them. Also, if we could get FT escrow that'd be awesome.
Btw, anyone's welcome that has at least some forum participation in any forum or has a well enough known member to vouch for them, simply to ensure the smooth running of the tournament.

I can accept the entry fee for FTP @ BooG690 (Elmont). I hope I'm a trusted member of FTR by now (though I probably wouldn't trust me).
In.
Guys, when you ship the entrance fees, be sure to let us know if you're shipping to Carroters or myself.

How will this actually be done. We both sit at a play money table? When will this be done?
As you can tell Im total noob, but since I suck at poker, might as well give this a try.

Yeah, it's just being modelled after the proper FTR HU tourney, I believe. Details of which are in the SHNL forum.

In for $15. Will throw $5 to dranger if he agrees to pay me 20% of winnings .
Just sent BooG $15 (from SuitsUs) and will send 5 more if dranger agrees.

oh and for the triple post, distinguishing between 3rd and 4th place is homo imo. 2/16 itm is plenty, especially for a HU tourney.

i'm interested just a little foggy on how this works? once you set up who plays who, you just set up a time with your opponent to play a best of 3?

Yeah, you just pm each other and set up a time that suits you both, then play on some play money HU tables.
Are we having a rule that you have to play at least two tables at the same time, as in the other official FTR HU tourney?

Nah I think it's unfair to forcve that on feeshus that ain't used to playing HU. Each pairing can agree how many tables to play, just ensure you have time to finish the match in the designated week.

Ok, I'm in.
I'm also not a big fan of there being a difference between 3rd and 4th place money. Just pay them equally, which for me would be something like this:16 man
Winner: 8 buyins
Second: 4 buyins
Third/fourth (no bronze match): 2 buyins
32 man
Winner: 16 buyins
Second 8 buyins
Third/fourth (no bronze match): 4 buyins

I like the idea of the 3rd place play-off, but if the general concensus is to do without it then that's cool.

well half the reason that i didn't like it in a 16-man is because it spread out the pay field too much. it doesn't seem much less homo to pay out a quarter of the field just to avoid a bronze game.
and yes, keith, i am referring to ad hominem argumentation to call you a homo in order to get my way :P

Yeah I don't see there being any problem with $15 - confirmed.
Start shipping.
There's been a pretty awesome turn out thus far. I think 32 could be an option, we'll see how things progress.

Shipped
Definitely not keen on 4th place paying out in a 16 man tourney, and much less keen on 3rd and 4th paying out the same amount. As for whether top three or just top two pay out, I'm not really worried.

Dearest geniuses:
With so many players, it's probably going to be a pain in the ass escrowing IF YOU DON'T INCLUDE YOUR FULL TILT NAME!. That means you Donachello. Granted, it was only two transfers, but be nice and include your name.

It'll probably be Monday unless we are like nearing 32 but not quite there by then.
Your matches can played any time during the week or weekend, but you must make the decision with your opponent as to when exactly.
