I have come to realise that I overplay my draws. If I flop an OESD I almost ALWAYS bet (my standard 1/2 to 3/4 flop bet) regardless of position or number of bettors. But I suspect this isn't +EV because there will be many occasions on which check/calling (or folding) is preferable.

Can everyone suggest examples of when to bet, when to check etc, and discuss the topic in general? Even if I discover it's NOT a big leak it'd be very useful.

pantherhound is on a distinguished road
I pot flopped FDs and OESD for deception as I pot almost everything I open with at the moment. If someone has bet in front of me I raise if I think I have FE or if they're a certain type of bad as the implied odds increase if you hit. If someone raises my OOp pot bet that's no better way of telling you you're up against something big unless they're an aggrodonk. If it's a minraise great I call, if it's bigger and they're a thinking player who knows I pot draws I may consider a fold unless I have a combidraw/lots of clean outs. Against a thinking player I sometimes check/raise the turn if I hit.

Usually a check on a missed turn unless I know I have the FE I'm looking for. Then calling a small turn bet with effective odds feels like it sucks but if an opp is bad enough to price you in in a big pot you may still have implied odds afterall if you hit on the river. but there's obv. no check raising in this situation.

I'll add something. Don't bet your draws as often against loose players. Your fold equity is down, and your value on made hands is up. That equals less betting before making your hand.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

Play passive if you're drawing to the nuts in a multiway pot.

Play passive vs. calling stations.

Play passive OOP vs. decent players.

Raise vs. Tags.
