I'm curious to hear from those who have a very large database of No limit holdem ring games in pokertracker, pokeroffice or whatever.

How much of your total profit has come from KK and AA?

Typically you'll find that AA gets a HUGE amount more profit per hand than any other hand by an incredibly big margin (it even gets a hell of a lot more than KK).

In NL I have a TINY TINY db (< 10k hands)... however, without my good friend American Airlines I'd be barely above a breakeven player .

without AA and KK I would be winning at about 1ptBB/100. Thats from a 71k hand database, mostly full ring.

Me too. AA/KK is about 2/3 of winrate. Thank God poker is rigged so I get AA every 50 hands.

Getting dealt AA/KK is essentially the equivalent of stumbling upon the Smart Bomb in T2:The Arcade Game/Invincibility Star in Mario/Invincibility in Doom.

Or the desperate cute girl at a Party.Same idea.

i think i need to really have a look thru all my aa hands...

over a 58k database heres my stats:

note I do win more frequently with aa, however my BB/hand is far greater for kk. Is anything glaringly wrong? Is the sample size enough?

It just shows you know how to drop KK when there is A on the board and save yourself money. When you have AA its much harder to drop the hand.

10/4 split, wow. Thought I was tight with 15/6..

Anyway, I think 5 BB/hand is reasonable long term with AA. KK maybe 2-3.

Note that KK vs AA encounters create huge variance..

Lately it seems that I keep losing money with AA or KK in my hand. Everytime I have them someone bets strong and I of course call them will sometime raise them. For some reason the poker gods are making me pay for playing these cards.

I am going to try and do some sums.

I have played roughly 15o AA hands at a BB/hand of about 7.8, and 150 KK hands at a BB/hand of about 5.2 (this is primarily at £25NL).

So, I have made £3.60 x 150 with aces, and £2.60 x 150 with kings. That makes a total of £930.

I reckon my entire NL profit is about £1200. Which means 77% of my profit comes from those two hands.

Jesus that's depressing

I have quite a small sample size in my new db but AA is by far the biggest winner.

Noticed that my VP$IP for AA != 100% so i looked through my hands and discovered this hand:

I wanted to thank you for making me realize that I suck at poker and need to get better.

At the NL100 I've made $3445 and $3075 has come from AA/KK(39k hands)
At the NL200 I've made $1388 and $2365 has come from AA/KK(21.5k hands)
Through all my NL hands (95.6k hands) I have made $6807 and $6822 have come from AA/KK.

Is this a sure sign that I'm terrible?

So you are a losing player without AA/KK?

Losing overall is a possible sign that you are terrible at poker.
Making over 6 grand is not. You still might have a few leaks to plug though. You might find that Shania puts your AA/KK profits down if you start playing the other hands more profitably.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?

Perhaps I'm misplaying AA and KK, but my winning percentage is far higher than those posted in the PT images.

AA wins 88% (always has since I can remember), KK wins 80%.

I do win the blinds a lot, and I often push if there's a raise in front of me, or if the whole table limps. Unfortunately, when the whole table limps and I push, then get called, I lose a stupid percentage. I'm guessing like 70% (and I can't remember anyone showing AA vs my KK in this situation. AK and smaller pairs just draw out).

Anyway, I average 4.5BB/hand with AA and 4/hand with KK.

You may be winning more % wise, but you're losing a lot of value by playing AA/KK that way.
