I see how some people play anywhere from 2-26 tables at a time so I'm wondering how many you play and what kind of computer do you have that lets you do it.

I have a dinky laptop that's powerful enough but has a tiny screen so I can only 4-table 6 max which isn't so bad.

Also, is it wise to multitable so many in $2NL?

buy an external monitor to use as a dual monitor setup, then you can multi table more. I have a notebook with an external 22" monitor and can easily 8 table without tiling or cascading tables if I wanted to.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

3-4 tables here, not a space issue. I feel i leave too much value behind if playing more.

I currently play either 2 or 3 Tables max, need to focus on making notes, watching showdowns, betting patterns, etc.

Also, hate to miss out on the entertainment value of donk-a-bet strategies* and the in-chat taunts/critiques/accusations (who needs Jerry Springer??)

*Sample Donk-A-Bet Strategy From Last Night: Limp AA from UTG+1, Get 3 Callers, Bet 1xbb on flop (get 3 callers), Bet 1xbb on turn (get 3 callers), go All-In on River for 100xbb (everyone folds), show cards, YEAH!!

if you use HUD, you can play less tables because it eats up system resources. on my super dinky desktop which is like 700 mhz CPU and 512 mb ram, i can run 8 tables very comfortably

2NL FR is great to multitable. i'm not a big fan of multitabling 6max though, since you're playing a lot more hands anyways

you should try multitabling with all the tables tiled directly on top of each other. its very easy on the eyes and on the computer as well

I don't like to overlap at all, that's why it might just be better to get another monitor for me. Even if that means I can only do another 4 tables.

How many hands do you guys play a day with 6-8 tables? And how long does it take.

Do yourself a favor and play a one hour session with the tables cascaded and you will love it. I used to think I hated it and was very frustrated that I couldn't play more than 4 tables at a time on my laptop. Then one of the regs in IRC talked me into trying cascade and after about 15 minutes I was totally sold. I can now play upto 14 tables if I choose, although I don't. I am currently playing 6 as I have just recently moved up a level. Prior to moving up I was playing 8-10 regularly and occassionally upto 16. Oh and fyi I use HEM with hud on and it is great!

17" monitor on a 8 year old piece of shit gateway computer.. I can't run HUD if I have more than 12 tables open because I lag to hell. Really looking forward to a new computer... that'll be my first gift to myself once I am beating 100nl.

Ring games
9 tables at once for 6 max.. don't really play FR

SNGs
When playing sngs I typically play sets of 20 or 30 stacked... 9 tiled if I am working on my game. The most SNGs I have played at once is 60. I don't recommend more than 40 in regular sngs and 30 for turbos, though.

MTTs
I never play more than 4 at once.. 2 is the sweet spot. You have to make so many damn moves in MTTs its hard to do this properly with more than 4 tables.

One thing that might help you out if you want to multi-table if you have a shit computer (like i do) is to turn off the animation. I know you can do it on stars by going into the options. All it does is turn off the cards being dealt from the table and it makes them just appear. I like it better and you lag alot less if your videocard is crap.

Quick derail while we're on the subject of multitabling with huds....can i resize my hud to fit a smaller table screen?

If I cascade or tile the blocks in the PT3 HUD just get in my way and I keep pulling up popups.

HUD in PT is completely lost to me. I tried finding a good tutorial on FTR but couldn't, anyone know where to find it so you can set up everything?

My problem is when I play on UB all the stats go to the wrong people.

Sorry this didn't answer your question and just added another one.

40 tables for SnGs? Unbelieveable.

poker tracker has their own forum and the mods there are great with helping people solve problems like this. I think they have a PT setup guide as well.
