I tend to really spend my with 6 max, full ring (both nl), and MTT's. The reason I play both 6 max and full ring is just because I feel just as good at both and I want the fishiest tables. MTT's I feel very confident at but I only do it when I see one that fits my roll and my spare time. Is this bad? Should I just be playing one of these?

Heh, all I can do is 6max ring. I tried some tournaments but never got anywhere. FR never bothered. Reminds me to contact some friends who are tournie buffs to observe them..

the best players in the world can play all games - they may like one or the other more, but you look at a guy like Ivey or Scott Fischman and they play a lot of games...
Personally, i think its good to be able to have skills for limit/NL/full & 6max - I also stayed away from tourneys for about 2 months while I was concentrating on my cash games, but i still think you should take at least the occasional shot at a tourney - The rewards are just that good - $10 buy ins for $1k first places are worth the risk...and it really is very little money -
personally, at Full Tilt, Im finding the fishiest tables to be 6 max limit - I started at 1/2 5 tabling 6 max this week and im loving it...It just seems, that at that site at least, the NL games are much tougher than they used to be - even 25NL - So I will move up to 2/4 limit shorthanded soon (want to have plenty of cushion just in case) - I just want to make money right now in bonus and RB and so I want to play the worst players I can find....that seems like the game for me right now -
either case, a full skill set can only help you, IMO -

I play 5-max lately because the players are absolutely horrid. But I like to keep a few FR tables open because I find they're the more skilled bunch. I do this to keep myself in line. Of course I should be disciplined enough to not worry about that but unfortuanately I'm not. So basically the FR game gives me perspective for my SH game if I'm getting too loose.
I just realized this totally doesn't answer your question. Sorry.
I do stay away from tournies though and focus only on my cash game.

Play em all, stay in your roll. You'll know soon enough, what fits your style. If you enjoy them the will become winners. It's not about grinding at one or the other. The game you play because you like it is the one you will be most willing to learn about, read about and talk about.
Put $$ in Stars if you haven't got any there already. The tourneys that fit your budget, schedule and style are all there. For ring, find another site that fits your Bankroll, style and has plenty of games that are at your stake. You will gravitate to the one you like best in no time.
I've been focusing on ring for the bankroll building. I love tourneys but the variance with the small roll is killer and the time is not there during the week. I play 10 or 20 S&G's a week at the $2.50's and $5's but sometimes I can't find enough for a whole night. Still, ring is where the money is, and at this moment in my career, that's my motivation and where i have my most fun.

i post everywhere that NL players get better when they play just a bit of lhe. Limit is more about position, playing with bad players and lookin for value everywhere. It also really helped my hand reading, so FWIW i think playing all games only improve your general poker knowledge and hence your game full stop.

yeah but they arent ring games. they are all tourneys on tv.
