you have A-9 of spades flop is [ Ad 9s 4s ] you flop top pair with nut flush draw...should you bet aggresive? check or just call to hope you make ur flush and opponent hits something? or do you just raise every bet

Yes, I would definitely play that very agressive. However, you'll have to watch out for guys that you could put on A-10:A-K. If your flush gets busted, you may have to let it go.

I would play it somewhat slower than I ordinarily would with top pair since there's very little chance of getting outdrawn. I'd make medium-sized callable bets on each round to maximize profit in the hand. If you're getting raised then you probably have to improve in order to win the pot. This, I believe, can be a dangerous situation because your hand may appear stronger than it is. You may in fact be drawing dead to a flush.

The confusion is that you're not drawing dead. Nothing about someone having a set removes the spades from the deck, so you're very much drawing live (not to mention the runner runner thing mentioned elsewhere).
Drawing tends to imply that you're not currently the winning hand, so not being ahead on the hand doesn't mean that you're drawing dead.

Drawing dead to a flush doesn't mean you're drawing dead. It means you need to draw to a flush to win. There is also the perfect ace, ace draw as well, I guess, so you're drawing dead to four of a kind or a flush.

yea saying that makes perfect sense its just confusing the first time you hear it, because most people would probably interpret drawing dead to a flush as meaning, you are drawing to a flush that would still lose, aka you're drawing to a flush and he has a full house anyway.

"Drawing dead to a flush" is not synonymous with "drawing dead." This is a standard term that means no card but a flush card will give you the best hand.

I'm just gonna drop it. Rarely are you going to have a great hand that's going to win even if you don't hit. By your definition virtually all draws should be called drawing dead to xxxx. That's not what the term means, but that's fine.

It's a way of explicitly stating that you can only win with a flush. This really shouldn't be so controversial.
