I've had a streak of picking up pots on the flop with TPTK with 2/3-3/4 sized bets on the flop.

My question is, should you be happy with taking the pot at this stage all the time with the same play? Just seems that when you hit with AK,AQ you're hoping for bigger pots?

If the opponent has checked, is there a time to check behind with TPTK hoping to hide the fact you have TPTK?

thanks.

Be extremely happy taking down a small pot with TPTK on the flop ANY time. It is only a marginal hand and is easily outdrawn. This is a play you will run into more than most. I would only check behind if you had a perfect read that the guy will bet if checked to, so you can check-raise him. At low levels, I think leading is best most of the time.

You get your biggest pots with sets, str8s, flushes, FHs.....

TLR is an unknown quantity at this point
taking down a small pot is much better then losing a big pot, which is what is likely to happen if you try to get too cute and slowplay it.

not always - If your against a player who you have seen overplay marginal hands a lot, then you can just value bet him all the way down. Or check raise the turn or something - I find lots of players who pay off with top pair/crap kicker, and if thats what you think they have, you can do that a bit - You run the risk of getting rundown, but I've gotten some big pots that way - Also, the stronger you let a fish Feel (like if you just call his flop and turn bet), the more likely to think they are good - Then when you raise them they think you are trying to bluff him -

like everything in poker, there are always times to do anything
