Okay here's the story-- last year I played house games with a group of poker buddies every weekend-- it became pretty competitive and many of my friends surprisingly acquired very good game. In other words, I consider myself to be very knowledgable and discipline in poker, yet I am accustomed to playing against other such pro players. Now I just went off to a new college and there's this poker night which is basically going to be filled with extreme fish. So, how do I optimally take all their chips? I mean, what should I do if they constantly overbet, or constantly underbet? I mean seemigly its easy to beat fish but I've played some online tourneys where the fish can be difficult because you can't read them and they always chase, etc. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated thx.

bet when you have a hand, fold when you don't.
Bet hard, find out what bets he's willing to call and max that out.

I had the exact same situation when I was in college, my poker buddies were awful, they never played on the internet so while I got better they just sucked. I t got to the point where I didnt even want to play because they were SOOOO bad.
It shouldnt be a problem playing with guys like this. Just sit back and play virgin tight poker, when you do get a hand and people are playing with you bet it strong. If bad players are calling a value bet they are also going to be calling 2/3 of the pot. But just play relatively few hands, youll probably notice that they are playing everytthing. Dont try to outplay anyone, theyll outplay themselves.

When I play a homegame these days it's all Taggy and nitty
I haven't seen a limped pot in months
@ topic starter: either play incredibly tight (easy and boring) or loosen up and outplay them (more difficult but fun). Make thin value bets.

This is what I started doing at my weekly game. One other person is pretty good, our conversation has given the others a glimpse into "poker". Now I can get them to play big bet poker there, exploiting my edge even more. Plus it's fun to splash chips while you're drinking.
