15-16 months ago , i decided to stop freerolling as a hobby and start and learn how to play cash games. I got involved in the BC, posted hands , took part in discussions,started a blog , and was told when my thoughts were wrong.
I want to thank everyone who has helped me so far and tonight broke through a bit of a milestone. So take heart , get involved and the frustrations that you are experiencing you will see that everyone else has been there before you.Learn , put the work in and the results will come.

nice work, Keith. good motivation story too. can't wait to see 1k in my cashier (well 1k that i didnt deposit straight up). what bankroll rules did you use grinding up to 1k? ie at what bankroll amount did you move up to

well originally got an invite to 2 freerolls ,1 each day over a weekend, came second in the first and 27th in the second .....something like a 5k starting field in each one which put 92$ in the account. then stars did a christmas freeroll promo for 1st depositors , so withdrew 50$ from william hilland used that to do the deposit. Had the cash in the account so started looking for free poker videos and found FTR.
should say that stated playing poker with some friends from MicroMart magazine's forum when wife was in hospital for a month before and after birth of our first child so it was something to do after visiting finished each night. Mother in law wasn't happy and i promised not to put any money onto the sites.....got into freerolls and started to do better then cash , then cash regularly then had some decent rolls across several sites.
And the cash game adventure began and found all my self taught stuff for play money and freerolls were way off the mark for Cash poker.Started playing 2nl on 1 table with $140 dropped to about $120 abd got sweated by Erpel turned my game around and quickly got to 150$ .Moved to 5nl and continued up to $250 where i moved to 10NL .
Did well at 10nl to start and somehow my game turned to shit around the time I hit $600 and i was getting beats left right and centre and crashed back to probably $350. this was around my busy time of the year workwise so didnt play much last july august.SWeptember Full tilt did take 2 promo and had some winnings on there so ground that up playing FR and learning how to play it with help from free video's from www.crushonlineholdem.com.
in the autumn moved back to 10nl and still was frustratedwas still really swingy with my results , but as the result of some sweats and video reviews of my play nailed the problem with my play. Although i was agressive preflop , I turned weak passive post flop and had gone too far with the folding to agression. Generally i find it easier to hit the fold button now, value betting better, hand reading better, getting thin value etc
tried a shot at 25nl at $650 and quickly dropped down to $537 mainly from bad beats but as i had dropped so quick i dropped back down to 10NL even though i hadn't gone through my stop loss at 500$ I felt i was too close to it to play not scared so ground up at 10NL.What I had seen of the play /players at 25NL though i was confident that i would be able to beat it . Had a final table in a UK freeroll promo for $67 , (hand review by codered in three videos at grinderschool) and I was pretty soon back up to $750 and rolled for a proper shot at 25nL. Moved up around march26th i think and last month was basically break even. Was getting used to playing 25nl and then stars changed the tables and I struggled for a bit getting used to the changes.this month i feel like i'm getting settled with the changes and to be brutally honest i went on a massive heater last night playing 5 tables of 25-50bb 25NL tables.Since i did well i had got about 250$ on the tables last night and fish just kept sitting down and gave me there money.

Good stuff Keith, congrats. Always nice to hear a success story.
I've taken a week or so off poker after getting burnt moving up to 10nl, but this has remotivated me, well this and speaking to a pro at a weeding at the weekend who plays nosebleed stakes.

Look closer at my ptr ratings and my sessions and you will see one stupid night of drunkin 100nl was the end of my bankroll.

maybe the jack off emoticon could be a reason , or a snide questioning post , or maybe even the fact that you can't even apologize without it being an insult.
Think of it like this, joke with your friends call em a wanker nothing happens , walk up to a stranger and call em a wanker don't be surprised if they aint happy about it dont think its funny and thump you. The same comment from people you know and people you don't can be funny or an insult.
