Is this thread the correct place to get advice on which tracker software is best? If not this thread, then where?

Probably tools of poker, but w/e. Anyway, I've got both, and prefer HEM. Better performance, better HUD, better reporting, easier to use (imo).

i haven't heard any recent complaints about either. Loads of people moved PT3 -> HEM cos PT3 was initially a dog. They've fixed it since.

Hem has the bonus of having two costs, one for low stakes games and you can pay the difference when you move up.

FWIW i use HEM, and don't plan to move back.

PT3 not close.
"Once we reach a certain level of mastery, we see there are higher levels and challenges. If we are disciplined and patient, we proceed. At each higher level, new pleasures and insights await us--ones not even suspected when we started out. We can take this as far as we want--in any human activity there is always a higher level to which we can aspire."

Currently they both perform about the same for everything except the custom elements like custom stats, advanced options when color-coding HUD stats, etc., which PT3 does much better.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

Both programs have free trials. If you haven't already done so, you should give them both a try and see which one you like best.

I prefer PT3.. I love than I can have one stat for one number and then color it for another stat. Saves a crapload of room. An example stat I have for villains is their steal % colored by how often they fold to a steal. Makes quick decisions so easy. My HUD is the shit.. I've spent countless hours perfecting it. I couldn't find the same kind of capability with HEM.

Thanks for the summaries. I'm already using pt3, just testing to see if it's worth the switch. Sounds like it's not.

Just to let you know, you can do this in HEM.

My issue with HEM is its lag factor. I might try PT3 next however, just for the sake of variety.

And another BC thread bites the dust. I read about the IOPQ ban one day out of boredom. Sure these dudes aren't his ghost handles?

Edit: Sorry about bump; in b4 lock.
