Try HEM's FAQ. It'll show you step by step.
Also their support is excellent if you ever need them.

best option - there is a FAQ list on the HEM website - including one that gives step by step instructions for getting the HUD up and running - be prepared to spend a while (half an hour?) getting it all set up as you want it.
or:
go to HUD options.
Make sure the hand histories are being saved to your computer.
The HUD pretty much only displays when you are importing hands (there are weird settings that are exceptions) - hit start auto import.
Go through the HUD options - top 5 in the dropdown list
