Alright ive been playing non stop lately...well i keep seeing flops of JJ8 and of course ill have an 8 with a good kicker and someone always bets and i fold instantly trying to save myself some money. Now how can i fish that out an know they bluff are something. And whats anybodys thought on playing pocket pairs from early position.

An me an a couple of buddies always play all 5 to 6 of us and all of them are tighter than a virgins you know what...well how can i break that and get things going while still winning. Now take in consideration i play mostly tournaments. I mean i got pocket pairs while i raise the big bling by little and someone folds or i got to face cards and they do too, but they just fold instantly. I mean wtf.

I need your help and it would be greatly appreciated....if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all.

Hi, the best way to get advice is to post some hands and we'll take a look. Probably the best place to post them is in either the SNG or MTT forums depending on what tournaments you're playing.

That just makes me want to say something not nice....

Instead though ill say whats the problem with being able to take the blinds down with trash in tournaments. Once the blinds get medium-big taking them down without confrontation is exactly what you want.

Maybe people wouldn't be smart if your thread titles weren't so ignorant and demanding.

when did this happen? If you think we're unfriendly, try visiting some of the other poker forums ... then you'll see bashing ...

also, Irisheyes is right. we're a lot more likely to respond the way you want if your subject line isn't in caps and you actually refer to what you're asking about.

respect in this forum is earned, not handed on a silver platter. gl.

when you have an 8 with a good kicker, try to hit more 88J flops instead of JJ8 flops. It will make your life much better. Nobody ever believes you have trips! (to fish out bluffs, try calling or raising)

If that doesn't work, move up to where they respect your raises.

If you would actually do what people suggest and read the forum, you would see that unless you were the big blind and called, or on the button with all folds before you, 8 with a big kicker should have already been folded.

This is one of the best forums I have ever seen. I have read hundreds of posts, and found that even the most basic questions are usually answered in a positive manner. I have posted several questions that showed I had NO idea what I was talking about and was given responses that were positive and informative, and learned a lot from them.

Do your homework, study the game, and read what people suggest. It will definitely take your poker to a whole new level.

he forgot the /sarcasm tag.

@NckPlt. Post some hands and ask some specific questions. You really arent going to get anywhere by talking to us like that. If someone has been unnecessarily rude to you then tell us about it and something may be done. At the moment you are comming over somewhat abrasive and that really isnt the way to get the kind of help you want. Good luck with the next post. Im sure you can turn it around.

Nck, you are completely misunderstanding the point of these forums. You are obviously a beginner; therefore you should read ALL the stickies on the beginner's board, and go through the rest of the posts looking for thread title you feel will be useful to you. These threads are a wonderful, free resource that takes no effort other than that of reading. Your problem is you're too selfish or impatient to take advantage of this - you see the forum as somewhere to ask a question and have it answered, immediately, to your satisfaction. Never mind that your question is so ultra-vague and badly phrased that answering it is in fact impossible.

So. Buck your ideas up, ask specific questions, post specific hands, but more than anything use a tiny bit of initiative to go through the THOUSANDS of potentially invaluable posts already made on any aspect of poker you care to mention.

No-one owes you anything, and until YOU'VE made a useful contribution (that's give, not take) no-one will feel obliged to take your half-baked demands seriously. This forum runs of mutual consideration and the exchange of information - you're lucky it's here, so start behaving with some gratitude.

I'm getting annoyed now so I'm going to shut up.

LOL @ you

The other's have said it, but I'm going to say emphasize this because someone has to do it: there is no such thing as a free lunch

We're not going to help you if you are rude and demand "personal attention". If you want personal f*n attention, go to a prostitute and get it! I feel privileged that better players than me, who could be earning in excess of $500/hr are taking some time out to answer my questions. In return I'm willing to make their life easier by conducting a search or two and reading the stickies.

If you think I'm just taking a shot at you, read some of my posts first. See http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...oker-48048.htm and http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...oker-47573.htm I wrote to a person willing to learn and respect the time and knowledge of people who they are asking for help.

With your attitude, you ain't going nowhere fast

Gotta tell ya, You got off easy on this one. Here's the deal. Go to 2+2 or pocket fives, (they are poker forums too) And copy and paste this exact same question you just posted here. If you get a better response than you are getting here, with less abuse, I personally will give you $100 out of my BR. This is "THE" most helpful poker forum on the internet. "BAR NONE". Try reading what others have asked, every one of us here has asked a hundered questions, some the same as your EXACTLY. The answers to your mundane, everyday, been there done that post, are here. We don't even mind repeating ourselves for those that don't understand how to look for answers, but GOD DAMN, ask nicer. You want help ask for help, but like calling 911, you don't yell help into the phone and just hang up. DETAILS. we need details to specific hands.

Here, lets try this, I will be you for a minute and try to ask what you were trying to ask.

I play in a weekly game with 5 or 6 guys that are very tight players, Playing only pocket pairs and broadways. How can I loosen them up or at least still beat them without playing garbage hands and losing. If I raise, they seem to fold, all the time. Is there a way to win aganst tight tables.

Oh yea, we also need to know:

1) What is the blind structure?
2) What is the starting chips?
3) What is the payout structure?
4) What do you consider tight 30%, 40%, 50%. and do you know the difference?
5) How much and where is the game? You need players?

Oh and by the way, some of us like humor in our lives and poker, the sarcastic and funny comments aren't for you, they are to give us guys a laugh. We play poker against idiots all day or all night 6 or 7 days a week. It's nice to laugh once in a while.

Thanks trainer jyms for the nice comment back. Well we usually play a 10 dollar tourney, starting with 3100 chips. Everyone(6) is so tight, but one kid is trying to break that and raises with junk and tries to represent a hand.

I was thinking about doing that, but how could i do that without blowing all my chips? What junk hands should i play?

And one last question what do you do when you dont see any decent cards for hours?

What are the blinds? My weekly game is 6 person, 100bb, which is awesome because I have all kinds of room to maneuver. Another place I know plays 10-man with $10 stacks and 50c blinds, so it's fold-fold-fold until you get the hands you list.

You have to figure out your opponents. If they are tight post-flop you can raise any two and cbet any flop, as long as they fold if they miss. Will they check the flop if they miss? Then call pf and bet when they check to you. If someone doesn't bet enough with a made hand then play drawing hands and draw post-flop. You have to attack their weakness, whatever it is.

If you don't get hands you loose. That's a SnG for you.

Not directed at OP. It's funny how many people come to FTR and their first question is "How do I beat my home game?". Maybe we should make a sticky...

What would it say? You beat home games the same way you beat any poker game. Although usually if you can't beat a home game, you can't beat any game ...
