I never play it but 47 suited - especially hearts - fixates me every time.

Other honourable mentions to go K9 and J9 suited.

the legend of 53s. i never play it, but hear stories about it.

last night, i picked up 53s on the button in a limped pot that went about 6way with passive players. i thought, "oh, what the hell. why not?" i limped.

i flopped the wheel on a rainbow board. i thought, "friggin' YAHTZEE, biotches." and, promptly raised the bettor. we all three get it on the felt, and i think again, "what a story to tell!!"

turns out i was up against limped KK...dumbass...and the rock in the BB had....

53o!

we split the pot, and i doubt i will play it again the rest of the year.

truth be told, i love 97s and J9s. and, they get me in MUCH more trouble than they are worth.

oh well.
LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!

Today I voluntarily put money in with K9s four times, J9s once, and 53s once.

Position, position, position.

When I was first starting out, for some reason I could never fold K9, suited or not. After losing several big pots with out however, my mindset changed. I also loved A2s for some reason.

More recently, I've fallen in love with T9s. Not exactly trash, but I tend to take it farther than I should every now and then PF (especially when I've been on a dry spell).

for me it's 63s and 85o (not sure why, but suited never helped me there).

Of course this goes back to before I considered advanced theories such as "preflop hand selection".

I still play them every time in a wild home game I play with some friends.

I hit straights w/ 63 and 2pr or better w/ 85..EVERY TIME!! lol

My first post - the reply button doesn't seem to be working so I hope this goes where it is supposed to go.

I couldn't resist the discussion about 53, as it happened to me last night on stars 25nl. I get AQc raise to $1, one behind calls me. Flop 3 5 Q. I bet 1.50 and get called. Turns an 8c - bet $2, I get raised to $12 - did he just hit a set of 8s? I call. Rivers a King - we both check - and shows 5 3 of diamonds.

I shrugged it off - gave it a good laugh when he called the 4 x bb raise with 5 3 and flopped two pair.

I took a couple more bad beats, had to reload and then took it all back and then some when I flopped a set of 4s and c/r his queens and he pushed me all in and paid off.

LOL J2. I hit 2 pr in a BB special recently vs a tight-passive regular, and of course I'm like BET BET BET every street and he's like "what now, J2?" and he calls my river bet. Then brags about his fantastic read lol.

The great thing is, that's the only hand he can remember ever having played against me! Two days ago he's like "you always get so lucky, but I can always read you like a book. remember the J2 hand?". Apparently I'm the donk who "always gets his money in behind" in his eyes. Of course this was right after I stacked him via diamond flush with KK vs his AA in a PF all-in.

Some days I open with T9s from all positions.

Your avatar fixates me!!!!

There is a lady that plays in many of my home games who is a TERRIBLE player. She has sucked out on my on several occasions because a "certain card" has been good to her that night so she starts playing every hand that has that particular card. Fortunately she is so transparent that once you figure out what "card" she likes that night you can easily take all of her money.

I needed a looong time to be able to open-fold AJ preflop in EP early in SNGs. Other than that I still love the J9s. But it is not like I play it in situatins where I shouldnt.

I would have to say J9s and lower suited connectors. I'm pretty good at getting into trouble with stuff like 67s anbd 78s
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

If the board is 5 7 9 of one suit, and I raise, you should fold your entire range.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?

I love 87s and 76s....won more huge pots with those hands than about anything else, since most at 1/2 never put you on those hands......from a weird standpoint I'm drawn to K3s....I've hit 3 boats with that hand in the last two months and it hacks people off every time! I ONLY play any of those with correct position though and ONLY with the right table texture.
