I see him up like 7-10 buyins at a time every other day at the stars $2000NL. What makes him so good? I try to watch the best and learn from them, but a little discussion would be quite helpful.

Ill start - dont know if this is truthful or not but it was according to the man himself while I was watching the usual cash game.

The board ended up 7Q22x and on the river h@l bet $800 but got reraised $4k by another big stack. H@l claimed to be folding Q2 because he knew for sure that the other guy had 77. The other guy just replied wtf, how do you fold Q2? The other guy didn't show so I don't know for sure if h@l read him correctly but the guy sure seemed rattled.

Remember that he does the all-in reload, though..

(Go all in, buy more chips so you can go over the max buy-in)

That's not to say he's not a GREAT player. He is and no one really disputes it. Him and Grandiose have similar styles - very aggressive all the time. Very reminicent of ChipMovr. H@L & Grandiose all will pull a 6000$ bluff move on someone and show them.

Facinating to watch them play. Indeed.. Masters.

It could easily be 10-20k a week. People have said similar things about Spirit Rock. That style of play can be pretty darn swingy. There are probably days where he drops a few buy-ins between reloads, early busts and a misread here and there.

That being said, the guy is a stud and is clearning some major scratch.

I dont doubt that its close to 50 grand a week. Almost all hours of the day I see him up by (at the absolute minimum) a total of $10,000 at all of his tables combined. Usually though, he's up more than that at just one table.

How does he get the tightwad pokerstars players to pay him off so much? They aren't exactly idiots. Shit I can't even get the moron 100NL players to give me so much money day in and day out.

Ive only seen him get a bluff called once, I don't see him getting into a whole lot of action, yet every time I come back to the computer he's up a couple more thousand.

-edit - Fnord you could be right though, I was doing some reading at some other forums and people there said that every time he's allin he reloads and adds an extra 2k to his stack...so I dunno. Its all hearsay - I wish the guy had a poker blog or something.

Like I said - even with reloads he is a winning player - consistently. I've seen the table chat about him raking and I believe it.

What about TheTakeover, too? He's been around for a while but as of late he's ALWAYS winning.

H@L plays in more MTTs now. Maybe you can chat with him there. From what I've seen him say, he's 23 and not YET a millionaire in USDs - he got a big jump playing at UB.

I'm gay for these kind of people because their talent amazes me, so I try to read up on them and watch them, etc.

He is impossible to read. I think he has the perfect frequency of bluffs. He does it enough thatEnough that it pisses his opponents off and makes them call him too much, but not enough to make bluffing unprofitable.

I think maybe this guy is turning into a bit of myth because of his stack size (which, as other members have noted, has an explanation). I've seen him play, and he's good, but he's not superhuman.

Yea the takeover was kickin some hardcore ass yesterday as well. I don't see how they do it, but it must be nice.

And, just because of his stack size, nobody thinks he's superhuman. Look at Ron Jeremy - nobody doubted his stack size. Still, they both do a lot of fucking in their respective professions.

If I could ask *any* of these guys a question it would be "What was your progression?".

Browsing through www.pokerhand.org you can see that some of these guys were playing 1/2 like a year or so ago.

I imagine that they didn't start out with more than a 400$ roll, probably more like $50 + bonuses considering people like takeover, etc are very young (under 25).

I imagine a good run (and good playing) would put them in their current position, but wouldn't you like to know if they followed the 300 X BB rule? I don't think they did.

An good example is "neverheeb" @ {link edited - a500lbgorilla}

Dude went from $40 to $20,000 to $0 in 4 days.
http://www.neverwinpoker.com/phpnuke...ewtopic&t=2458

Anyways - that's what I'd like to know.. How they progressed to XX limits and what thier BR was along the way.

its all practice, some people take longer to burn situations into their brains than others.... some are mad genius's at this game and have it whipped up in a few years and others like me, will be playing this game for many years before reaching that level .. but nothing is impossible.

He's pretty damn aggro. He raised from the small blind with a pair of sixes? Blind steal attempt?

But that was pretty spiffy.

Yeh. he has 37k on one table , winning a 25k pot included.

Another guy also talking about a pot Halling won on UB yesterday. 44k in the pot against "pokerfilth", probably mike matusow.

Next time you make a really big bet on Pokerstars, click "Add more chips" and rebuy to the maximum during the hand. If you win the pot, your stack will magically become a lot bigger.

The man beat me with pocket jacks when I had pocket kings. He raised $200 pre-flop and I put him all in for $800 and he calls and hits his jack on the river. Scum, pure scum.

I havent watched him much but i've only ever seen him a long way up. And to win against those players he's got to be lagg. He may not have been after the blinds... I'm starting to move to a more lagg style and i can say that I'm getting very sceptical about ever entering a pot with out raising (except in some pretty specific situations). So if it wasnt for the blinds then i'd say he raised simply because he was intending to play the hand. If I know a player well enough i wouldnt feel worried about raising anything out of the small blinds, you dont have to have position to make a move. And with the "super human reading powers" spoken of here, i'm guessing he wasnt intending to ever see the showdown, but then was convinced he could win so called it down.
villain goes AI
i call with a set (i have him owned)
i win pot

That nizzles character is Prahlad Friedman... WTF is up with that guy? He seems to murder everyone. I only saw him play on stars and he really just moved sideways.

SICK stuff sometimes. Major spankrolls these monkeys have. All under 25 yrs old. They're like "The Crew" without the pink leotards and gay porn.

Of course H@££INGGOL reloads the full 2000 but still if you have over 50k in bankroll at the table that is impressive.
