Villain is a tard running 70/28 over 40 hands. He's donked really small once before against me and folded to my raise. He's generally just been limp calling a weak ass range preflop and raising anything half decent in all positions.

How do we react to this line?

No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

MP ($29.75)
CO ($24.85)
Hero (Button) ($33.80)
SB ($37.25)
BB ($28.25)
UTG ($29.85)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Q, J
1 fold, MP calls $0.25, 1 fold, Hero bets $1.25, 2 folds, MP calls $1

Flop: ($2.85) 9, K, 2 (2 players)
MP bets $1.75, Hero calls $1.75

Turn: ($6.35) 2 (2 players)
MP bets $2

I'm assuming you were raising most turns before seeing the 2h fall? I hate that card, just don't fold but not sure if we should be calling/raising as now if we raise he can still have 2s a lot as well as two hearts. I think I might like calling turn and betting or raising a lot of rivers given river card/river bet sizing.

Also, edit out the "Total pot" in your post if you can please.

ahh yeah lol, bit of a give away that I didn't fold lolz. Does anyone prefer just raising flop. I fear he can play a lotm of crap top pairs like this and just refuse to fold them at any stage.

Just raising flop isn't bad obviously but I'd just flat and raise a lot of turns with what appears to be a gutshot + overs.

I definitely like a flop-raise here. In position, we're seeing a lot of free rivers.

That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.

For sure raising flop gets us a ton of FE + free rivers but I think we gain more dead money by just waiting for turn.

Hmm I think calling flop and then jus raising over a decent sized turn bet is kinda spewy, given that this guy will not be folding Ks and probably has a lot of combos of them in his range given his preflop ranges. When he calls the turn raise we're pretty much drawing to 4 outs a lot of the time I think.

Raising flop seems like the cheaper way to gain FE and I feel like we're attacking a weaker range than we are when he bets the turn also.

I think he's likely donking a wide range consisting of most pairs on the flop, but being unsure of his turn betting frequency makes floating with the intention of raising turn kind of iffy imo.

I mean how many better spots are going to come up where we can just town this guy without having to take line that bloat the pot without too much equity.

obv we're not raising a Q or a J. it's not so much that other cards would be "good," it's that the 2h sucks 'cause it improves a large portion of his range that we're trying to bluff him off of (improving 2x's and XhXh hands).

i'm kinda indifferent to whether we raise flop or raise turn. they're both obviously +EV. the choices seem close enough to me that i would prolly just make my decision based on something as small as, we already bluff raised a flop donk raise, so i might change it up and raise the turn this time (and let him define his range a little bit more on the turn).

It's always a hard one. The problem is he could have hit the 2? He could be slow playing a bigger hand. It depends on how much you want to pay to hit an out?

I guess the subtle and sophisticated meaning of the stray bracket was lost on some people.

And this guy is a mod now......
