he mentioned how players worry "what if he's making a move on me?" and his reason for making a lot of folds is this:

1. If they aren't making a move, you may get stacked if you play back.
2. If they are making a move, playing back risks alot for a small pot.
3. good players get pushed around here and there, and that's fine. That's where ego doesn't need to get involved.

that's pretty solid thinking from a 50-100 nl winning player. He also said it doesn't mean never make plays on people, just make them rare.
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately

An important part of this is you have to put someone on a hand they are bluffing with before you deem playing back.

For example Tagg raises pre, you threebet from the blinds with QQ, he calls.
Flop comes A22, you cbet he raises 3x.

Now his raise doesn't make much sense. Most will flat AK-AJ here and surely wouldn't raise KK-33, so he has to be bluffing!

Well no, what hand would he bluff with? KQ? KQ is literally the only hand he could be bluffing with here and i highly doubt he bluffs with it. Versus most players you just have to concede that he does have AK-AJ or AA and fold.
Check out the new blog!!!

yeah i think we watched the same video (25/50?), and i liked his discussion as well. Reverse implied odds preflop!

I agree ISF

here's an interesting read i had during the 3r today.

3handed pot: smart aggro big stack raised, 1 caller and I called.

flop came AKx rainbow, checked to raiser, he checks. Interesting i thought, he had bet all pairs before, cbetting all flops on a bluff, but he took a free card here. Why ? because he was drawing with QJ. turn was his T, i check, guy shoves, big stack calls with straight.

It was one of those rare times it's just blatantly obvious what the guys hand is.
