Go here, and get your congressman to vote yes on HR-2046. Make Poker in the US a protected right of american citizens, and watch the donkies roll on in!

Sorry the topic is a..... little.... misleading.
The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?

Can anyone vouche for this group? I would write a letter but don't want to give out address/email to some random phishing scam.

i think stars had a bunch of freerolls that you could get into if you joined the PPA, which, if i remember correctly was just clicking a button and then they must send these guys your info. maybe i got conned, but i haven't gotten any junk mail/been robbed/defrauded YET. plus their board of directors includes some people i've heard of at least: http://pokerplayersalliance.org/lead...fdirectors.php
i guess do what you want, but i haven't seen any negative effects from signing up.
have you ever drunk bailey's from a shoe?

A copy of the email I got from PPA,
this is a reputable group and they are fighting for your right to play poker!!

Dear Fellow PPA Member:

I have wonderful news to report! On Thursday, April 26, Rep. Barney Frank introduced HR 2046, the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act of 2007. HR 2046 will lift the prohibition on playing poker online. Your efforts are making a difference!

Representative Frank is the Chairman of the important House Financial Services Committee. And he understands the injustice that we have suffered. When he introduced the bill, he told reporters that “The existing legislation is an inappropriate interference on the personal freedom of Americans and this interference should be undone”.

But he can’t do this job alone. Now, we need to help Congressman Frank build support for his bill.

You can regain your right to enjoy safe, secure online poker – but only if you stand up for your rights. And PPA is here to help you do just that.

This is a landmark day for freedom. But it is only the first step of the process. Join me in celebrating this milestone – and take action to build support for HR 2046.

I'll vouche for the Poker Player's Alliance in a heartbeat. I've never recieved spam from them (I'm not considering emails like the one I got telling me about the above act spam), and every letter I've sent through them (half a dozen at least) has been delivered to the correct officials. I say that last part because I've actually gotten responses from the office of my senator/representative.
I run a training site...

IMO your topic is misleading in a different sense. Before opening I was expecting to see something like: "Hi guys! You must check http://(SPAM removed by Xianti) ..."

PLEASE EVERYONE WRITE A LETTER, they actually write the letter and even mail it for you, its as easy as drinking beer!!

Ask Your Congressman to Support HR-2046
Facts About HR 2046
The Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act of 2007
Opponents of our freedoms will now launch a campaign to undermine HR 2046. We need to be armed with the facts to defend our rights.

HR 2046 protects poker players. Applicants for a gaming license would be required to provide comprehensive financial statements and corporate structure documents, and to agree to be subject to U.S. jurisdiction and all applicable laws related to Internet gambling. No license would be granted to any applicant convicted of a criminal violation of any law relating to gambling, money laundering, fraud or other financial laws.

HR 2046 protects consumers. The framework set forth in the bill would for the first time effectively regulate Internet gambling, thus making it possible to address underage and compulsive gambling, neither of which are prevented under prohibition regimes. Regulation combined with proven technology would establish a system of effective controls to block children and compulsive gamblers from gambling.

If HR 2046 becomes law, online poker will be safe, secure and regulated. The bill would create stringent licensing to ensure that poker operators are legitimate. HR 2046 protects poker players, and it protects consumers.

Now, your elected representatives need to hear your voice. Ask your U.S. Representative to support HR 2046, and to add their name as a co-sponsor!

Please accept my personal thanks for sending your U.S. Representative a letter supporting HR 2046. As Chairman of the Poker Players Alliance, I am honored to represent the hundreds of thousands of Americans who enjoy poker. I count myself a proud member of this group, and I thank you for taking the first step toward restoring our rights.
Sincerely,

Senator Alfonse D'Amato
