 I am not sure if this idea is mentioned anywhere else... i didn't look all day but i made this play just this evening and i was wondering what people thought of it.

Player 1($27.90 in chips)
Player 2 ($10.75 in chips)
Player 3($30.75 in chips)
Player 4 ($82.15 in chips)
Villian($67.30 in chips)
Player 6($54.85 in chips)
Hero($49.50 in chips)
Player 7($72.05 in chips)

Dealt to Hero [Kh 7h]
4 folds
Villian: raises $0.50 to $1
1 fold
Hero: calls $0.75
1 fold
*** FLOP *** [9h 9d 6h]
Hero: checks
Villian: bets $1.50
Hero: raises $2.50 to $4


The reason i like it is b/c if i he calls and i miss on the turn i feel i can either fire out a medium sized block bet on turn to get a cheap river and at the same time build a big pot to take down with a surprise flush. This play as opposed to leading the flop since i am OOP. I had no reads on villian, but i think a c/r looks like a strong line and him betting the flop in a HU pot doesn't mean he hit it either. If he folds the flop i am happy.

I use this move every now and then. It has a few strengths, one it looks like you're representing the 9, so you might take it down there. The other bonus is if he does flat call, theres a good shot you just bought yourself a check from him on the turn to see the river. I wouldn't suggest using it multiple times though against the same opponents.

 i like this every once in a while. but def. dont make a habit out of it, especially against the same villain.

You're repping a nine with that line. How big of a pot do you think you can be ahead in with a flush?
You probably get a call there from an overpair, but most of them aren't playing for another big bet, especially when a draw completes.

A reraise often will slow an aggressor like that down. I use it on draws and it works for me. So ya-huh.

The second check looks very weak. There was a thread a while back that discussed this. I think I argued that the second check could be strong, but since then I've gained more experience and have changed my mind - it looks really weak.

great flop to do this against a pfr who c-bets but is not super aggro (i.e., shoves with AK or 77). I don't think c/r reps a 9 here, more like "something that beats 2 overs".

Awesome play: check/raise AGAIN on turn when flush hits! OK, just kidding. Would be funny though.

You can make a less-than-normal bet on the turn, representing a suck-bet... but bet enough so that it will be easy to get a/i on river when you hit.
