So, some quick background on me. I started playing live poker about a year and a half ago. I worked my way up to about $50 NL (right before I stopped) doing ok considering I was learning (about $1000+ lifetime), then live poker just really started to piss me off in every way imaginable. I started dabbling in online about 9 months ago taking frequent month long breaks. Now I am playing a little more often and doing alright ($300+ lifetime), and that too is ok because I'm learning the game. Currently I have a $250 bankroll on UB and and a $150 bankroll on PP.

Anyway, over the next few months I'd like to get a little bit more serious about my poker in general, because, considering I haven't played that much, I consider myself a better than average poker player. As well I really enjoy playing, and I figure that if my chosen hobby can make me some money on the side as well, how can I really go wrong? Now I figure I am probably just being a dumb ass newbie not being able to figure out how to go about getting involved in one of these rakeback programs that you guys are always talking about and not being able to really rack up the bonuses (thus far I have just played to be playing), but I'm having some trouble figuring it all out a would love some help.

You hear the massive success stories all the time. For instance a friend of mine who I regulary used to tear apart live has made almost $80,000 over the last year. Seriously, I have no dilusions about doing that, his good fortune is a combination of being willing to play 14 hours a day, some good luck, and a really serious commitment to the improvement of his poker game. What I would like to do is improve my poker game and I know building a solid bankroll by way of rakeback and bonus whoring is a key way of doing that. If nothing else I would really appreciate being pointed to some helpful posts.

Thanks alot for however you can help.

-AJ

Well I see that just be posting the words rakeback and bonus I get some info... way to go FTR! Still, I'd like some more information because if, for example, rakeback is something everyone gets, how is it really rakeback? Wouldn't that just be a lower rake? I'm still interested in the bonus whoring thing as well.
