Are the freerolls at Full Tilt Poker worth playing?

My wife won't let me deposit money online(fear of me turning into a degenerate gambler) so I'm currently playing a semi-regular home game and trying the freerolls.

But are they worth it? I'm talking about the 2700 player games with 4/9ths of the table going all-in preflop on the first few hands.

Are there alternatives? Is playing freerolls going to be bad for long-term development?

Why would they be bad for long term development? You shouldn't be part of the "4/9ths" going all in preflop, are you? I've placed 1st-3rd a few times on both the PokerStars and FullTilt freerolls, sure they take ages, but I quite enjoyed them.

Free monies rite?

Best I've done is 30th. I guess I'll just keep playing and practicing.

freerolls take way too long. honestly i'd just deposit 50 and work out a playing schedule with the wife, because you'll be spending 5+ hours on the freeroll anyways

pay outs are 1% of the field but hey with no br or very little its worth the practice. i have cashed in them a couple of times . they also have the tournament dollars freeroll . they go off at 1040am and 640pm gl. play tight early and half the field gone in 30 minutes .

No they are not worth playing. Get some balls and deposit some money. If your wife lets you play for hours but only for free then you will never be able to build a bankroll anyway and may as well play WSOP on PS3. The moment you have $50 or more she will make you withdraw anyway because she is obviously afraid you will lose it.
