After having some initial success playing cash games I have come to a stand still. When I am playing in a big pot I am actually doing it for value 9/10 times and I bluff the other 1/10 times. But in the last few days at the micro stakes, no one (I really do mean no one) will call when I have value and yet they will call my bluff down with bottom or middle pair every time (after 3 barrels, which is exactly how I play my strong hands)!

I know this is a very general question but is this a normal problem? I know I haven't posted specifics but is there something that just generally speaking I might be doing wrong?

Is some software giving away what I am doing (VPIP, etc.)? I am playing against some of the same people frequently and alot of them are 3 star ppl on PokerStars.

Do you have a hand history to go along with your question?

Your bet sizing could be making your hand obvious, or you're just playing into the wrong types of players in the wrong types of situations. Don't bluff a calling station, and don't pay off the nits.
Tilt is poker cancer. You catch it, you die.

Very hard to tell without knowing the sample size you're talking about. Anything can happen in the short-term. If you're talking about a decent sample size of at least 5k hands or more, then it's probably something you're doing and you'll need to adjust.

table selection ldo. If you don't know the software that could give away your basic style of play, you probably can't spot the regs. The regs are really the only people that you can sometimes barrel. you shouldn't decide to bluff 1/10th of the time, you should bluff when it's profitable. 3 barrels are pretty much never profitable at micros

There's fish all over at 2/5nl...table selection isn't important really.

Exploit the nits, play tight against the loose players

Post some hands.

Make sure you are picking the right board textures to barrel on. Barreling a J 10 8 board is harder than a 7 7 2 board. Also make sure you are leaving enough ammo for that river bluff.. it has to be scary and not price the villain in. Usually you want at least a 75% pot shove on the river to make it effective. And don't forget to play your monsters the same exact way.

Yeah I forgot, there's no money at 2/5nl; everyone's solid! Let me amend this though...if you've made adequate notes and colour coded the fish, then yes...table selection is important.

So yeah, I was wrong to say it wasn't.

No reason to play for a lower win rate than you have to.

One time I was walking around the casino looking for the poker room and i took a huge liquid poop in my pants. At first I was going to leave but I realized how +ev it would be to play a long session of 5/10 NL with poop in my pants. People seemed to give me strange looks and randomly leave my table a lot but I crushed the game and won almost 4k. It wasn't extremely comfortable but it was well worth it. I would suggest pooping your pants before playing poker if you want an edge.

I actually suggest doing that for every session. I think there's a sticky about it in beginners digest. That trick has been around for many years.
