Question about a hand I played today. I am playing at a .5/1 blind no limit hold-em table. Buy in $25. I have about $25 in chips. I am dealt pocket 5's. I am in middle position. The #3 position raises pre-flop to $1. I call, and one guy behind me calls. So 3 of us see the flop. The flop comes 5,7,8 all spades. The guy in front of me checks, I bet $2. The guy behind me raises $2 and the other guy folds. No it's just the two of us. I re-raise $2. He re-raises $2. I call. The turn is no help 2 of diamonds. I bet $4. The other guy goes all in for $16. I fold. What do you think?

if you are going to fold to an AI (seeing as hes re-raised so much at the flop this may be likely) then you may aswell just flat call at the turn and see if one of your 10 outs come to boat up or better.

I like to play sets "slower" on uniform flops ( or 678 etc)

if you bet out and a guy raises you all-in, you could be a 2:1 dog to win.

you might win, but you've got trouble.
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately

This is a true story. I'm not a paid actor. FTR does not guarantee any results. People can and do lose money when playing poker.

I think the problem is you have no idea how to raise.

On a unifom flop, call/check to river hoping for a boat when playing bad players...

bad players are very likely to be playing suited cards (even 72 is good to them suited) so better to let them slowplay you into a FH and then take the stack.

win 5 bb's on the flop, or check call for that FH to win 100bb's (when you hit)

Q. Is poker Gambling?
A. Do you use correct bankroll management?

Bad board, the raise on the flop was good for finding information and you go it, you shoulda laid it down, flat calling isnt a bad options but when you didnt pair the board on the turn and he bet so big, easy lay down.
