I was curious here to know everyones opinions on what to when flopped a straight on 7 8 9 board while holding 77, a set on a 8 9 J board with 88, i wont go as far as 44 on a 456 board because this is another spot where it could go both ways.

Throw out a few scenioreos of what has happened to you , you would be surprised but it is actually a ev- spot.

Id like to hear if you've flopped the straight and you put them on a set how you would play the hand if you would slow it down, check turn to trap, if you would call a shove if you had the bottom set, if river pairs its high card if you would call a shove and vice versa. If you were bet into etc , I assume the game is 5-10+ player is around 23% of flops seen and what not. If bet into on flop wwyd, if check called on flop and checked to you on turn if you would try to check behind to trap or value bet/block bet/take it down bet on turn so they dont river you. What you do if river pairs on the end and they shove, if river doesnt pair on the board and they check raise all in, if turn is checked behind by you and are facing a river bet with both of these hands what would you do . etc

Thanks, probably the toughest spot to be in at poker.

i cbet very hard... instacall a push, push a raise or push the turn myself..... if i'm playing pot with very specific player nit or bad player i can put plays or get more cautious(very rarely). but anyway with bottom set on those boards 100BB in my pocket i try to get it all in on flop or turn, whole lot of 2pairs or pair+draws call you and ur ahead. flush draw out changes the EV and i get more agressive with it.
