Very first hand at the table. By the river I really don't see anything that I'm beating...clear c/f, right?

Yep, I think you're hosed on the river.

That said, and I'm not a cash game player, I would bet the flop a little harder - either pot sized or slightly more than the pot. I want to play top and bottom pair pretty fast since it is vulnerable to being counterfeited. I would probably also bet the turn harder too.

Flop and turn are fine to me. What makes you think you are beat? Why no lead out on the river?
Sue me if I play too long....

I'm beat by any Q, and KT+, and only splitting w/ K9 and worse. I assume that most PP's would have folded on the turn (aside from 99 and 33 of course). So basically all I can put villain on that I beat, without reads, is AJ, or maybe something weird like J9. I figured I'd just cut my losses and not put any more into a hand where I can't really see myself ahead most of the time here, and I don't have that much invested into this pot anyways.

If I were to lead the river though, I'd probably throw out around $1.80-$2. But I wouldn't like it at all.

flomo will become famous soon enough
if we are talking just about the river play
call the .7 and hope for the best

the bastard is limping and calling and calling
but we checked the river giving an opportunity to bluff

cheap call

(i would have bet stronger on the flop and turn)as posted by taipan168
