Hi all,

I was just wondering what your guys angle on this scenario would be?

When you flop 2-pair or a set but the flop contains cards to a flush/straight draw do fire out a pot sized bet?

On a non drawable flop (does that make sense?) I would try to slow play a set to draw as much money out of the players as possible. I would think this is not possible in the above example and a set should not be slow played.

I play 10NL at the moment but feedback at higher levels would be good as I am hoping to improve and move up in the future.

What are your opinions?

pay to make them draw. I often bet out even if there isnt a draw on the board. Ive found that players at 10NL will call far more often than they will bet out. They will call with a very weak hand but may not even bet out with a second best hand (prefering to slowplay). In most cases I like to bet it myself since I think that is by far the most +EV against these players.

The only exception is if I have such a strong hand that there is basically no way my opponent can have a hand.

e.g. i might slow down with KK on an K82 rainbow flop since unles he holds 88, 22 or a very unlikely K8/K2/82 there is no way im getting paid. Even then there are a lot of people who will call a close to pot size flop bet with TT thinking you are on a missed cbet. In this case I might bet flop, check turn, bet river.

In 99% of cases I think it is just better to bet your hand
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

Yes. Don't slow play that ... bet it every single time. A lot of people are going to call anyway with their draws, at least you make them pay for it and give them a chance to make mistakes.

And don't EVER slow play your hand if you flop bottom two pair, even if the board is uncoordinated with no draws.

Bet, bet, bet. Thats why low stakes poker is so easy. People love to call your bets and hand over money.

Don't slowplay made hands.....too many ways to get outdrawn and then blaming it on bad luck.If you're going to lose make sure you lose after the money is all in with the best hand.
