My thought process was to make it look as if i was on a flush draw, so that he would keep betting into me. I put him on a hand like qk, or qj, and i was value raising on the river after a nonscare card.

I wouldnt be slowplaying there. 2 pair is never the nuts as it is, and flush draw boards always make me play everythiong faster. If I just called the flop id definatly raise the turn. Too many scare cards can come on the river to slowplay the turn and now theres some money in the pot it doesnt matter as much if he folds.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?

I guess it's OK if you can narrow his range down to two possible hands simply because he bet the flop, but as you can see that's usually not a good idea. Bet the flop and if you don't bet, please check-raise. I don't understand why people slow-play when they put their opponent on a hand that they're likely to call a raise with anyway.

I never slow play two pair. It's strong on the flop and loses it's value fast.

You should think about posting these kind of threads in the Hand Histories section lest you incur the wrath of the moderators.

I'd never slowplay 2pair on a board like that. It's just too easy to fall way behind with nothing to show for it. If you bet and opponent has nothing, he'll fold. What would you do if a heart fell and opponent starting betting big?

This is a decent spot for a flop checkraise.

You're looking for trouble slowplaying the hand like that. Theres a flush draw on the table and your hand isnt exactly a monster. Bet on the flop!
Slowplaing is sooo overrated. Even if you have the nuts aggressive betting often pays off better .

Look - ive got a high card. Ive written my first post!

Never, ever slow play two pair. Two reasons;

1. You should be after BIG pots. Betting two pair will disguise the strength of your hand and get more action from someone with top pair or an over pair. By check calling the flop, check raising the turn (or some other variation) you are telling him I BEAT A PAIR. Bet out that two pair and your opponent may put you on a less strong hand.

2. The obvious...your hand may become the losing hand by giving free cards, or a card may come that will scare away your opponent (ace, paired board, flush draw hits)

BET your hands, BUILD the pot early, and win a huge pot. He either has it or he doesnt, if he cant call you on the flop he probably cant call the run or the river.
Me? I always tell the truth.

Even when I lie.
