First off, thanks to Redzill4 for taking the time to give me some coaching today.

From the session today, its clear that there are a couple of areas in my game that need to be worked on and they are probably fairly common ones among micro players.

1. Betting with marginal hands:
Situations such as where you are in the BB, hold trash and check preflop, or are on the button and try to steal preflop with trash and number of limpers call, or are OOP with a small pp, limp in and there are a number of other limpers. On the flop, you dont have a hand or have something weak like bottom pair. Because none of the other players bet, you bet and try to steal the pot.

At micro levels there is no point in doing this because there are so many other situations where other players are going to be giving you their money, there is no point in putting money in the pot in marginal situations where you most likely have a worse hand.

2. Betting in situations where better hands will call and worse hands will fold:
This means is that you have a decent hand that you would like to get some value out of. However, the situation is such that if you bet the villain is either going to be folding because the bet makes it clear that you have a good hand, or is going to be calling because he holds the nuts.

An example of this would be a situation where you have raised IP pre, a flop comes where you hit something like TPTK, and the villain donks into you. If you reraise he will most likely fold, so it makes sense here just to call and let him bet again on the next street.

I think that both of these are types of situations that you dont see many HH's being posted on in the BC as often these dont end up being particularly big pots. Play enough of these types pots incorrectly in a session though (like I do) and you are losing a lot of value.
