Well I did something yesterday that I think was breaking the rules of BRM. I wanted to see what you guys thought of this? There is a huge fish that I have won like 7 or 8 buyins off of recently. He buys in full and auto shoves pre every other hand and the hands he doesn't shove pre he shoves the flop. Once busted he buys back in at least 2 or 3 times. Anyway I friended this guy and try to sit with him every session. Well I noticed he has now moved up to 10 nl. So yest I sat at a 10nl table just for him. Have you guys ever followed bad players to higher limits? And on the side what would be a great strategy against this type of play? I usually play very tight b/c others at the table start shoving too b/c of how wild he is and most pots end up multway.

I've done this with positive results. I've played a handful of hands at 50nl chasing some donk who was paying me off nicely at 25nl. I played one orbit, doubled up off him and he didn't reload so I fucked off very quickly.

I had position on the guy I was chasing, I doubt I'd have taken a seat to his right. I'm not sure the others knew how bad he was. I was not interested in getting involved in pots with the others unless I was particularly strong.

That said, it's a bad idea to step up before you're ready. If you can afford to lose a single buy in and still be sufficiently rolled for your usual level, then it's a risk worth taking imo if the villain is bad enough.

What you just outlined is exactly what I did I waited to get a good seat. Iso'd him and stayed the hell out of anyone elses way. I left the next blind after he busted. My BR is around $135 and I play 4nl(the lowest stake on my network)

Depends how well you handle tilt and emotions imo. Could you set a stop loss and stick to it even if he sucks out in some all in pre type hand? Basically accept that although it's probably +EV to play variance will sometimes kick your ass and you need to be ok with that.
