Is it ever correct to reraise this play without the absolute nuts?

When you have 3h2h on a 4h 5h 6h x x board.
When you have KK on a AAKKx board.
When you have 75 on a 34689 board.
In all these cases you have the second nuts, but in the first hand opp can't lay down Axh, in the second hand he can't lay down Ax, in the third hand he can't lay down a set. If he has 8h7h, AA, or T7 respectively, then we pay him off.
In general, when you have a hand that is better than what you're opponent plays the same as the absolute nuts (or the old "you're ahead of his range") .

Interesting. In the hand that raised the question, I had the nut flush, but the board was paired and I moved in. Of course he had a full house. I guess I should have just called, like I suspected, since it's really hard to say I was ahead of his whole range. If I had had a lower full house the push would still have been justified.
PS This was a B & M hand, so that's why there's no HH.

i only push over the river c/r if im confident my hand beats theirs ad mos often you see this play when someone makes an obvious monster hand when you have a strong hand two (eg nut flush vs boat)

In those situations it's rarely correct to push over a re-raise. Your opponents check raise on the river when the board is paired and a flush is possible indicates a lot of strenght for sure. Of course there are excpetions, if your opponent is overly aggressive, etc.

You dont need the absolute nuts but you need either a very strong hand or a very strong read on villian

I don't think I've ever been c/r in this situation yet.
