As my name might suggest, I'm a green player. I've had some success in SnGs $10-$30 buy-ins, but like everyone else, want to improve my game. I'm trying to get a better grasp of EV and wanted to see if my understanding/analysis is correct. I'll use the following hand that came up last night.

Blinds 100/200
5 players left
Table has been fairly tight

I'm in the CO and dealt KhQh
EP limps
MP limps
I limp
SB raises to $300
BB folds
EP folds
MP calls
SB has been a rock so I put him at high pair or overcards. MP probably Ax, Kx or mid pair. I call.

Flop 10h 3h 6s (pot $1300)
SB pushes all in $1225
MP folds

Now, I have a little better than 2-1 against making the flush on the turn or river (please correct me if I'm wrong). If I make it, I lose if the SB has Ah - I'll take that risk.

Disregarding the Ah, I think I'm looking at a slight EV+ (I win 2525 for a 1225 bet ... slightly better than 2-1), so I should call. Is my understanding of EV and calculation correct?

Not that it's relevant to EV, but I called and drew a 7h on the turn, blank on the river.

SB had pocket QQ.

Thanks

Having 35% chance to hit your flush (and assumingly win the hand), your chip EV on the flop call would be:
.35 * 2525 - .65 * 1225 = 883.75 - 796.25 = 87.5

Money EV, since this is a tourney, is completely different and quite impossible to figure out mathematically. Would need to know stack sizes to have any insight there.
Up my bankroll - buy Saints Row.

There is actually a forumula to equate tourny chips to value. I have never used it myself, but the best of best tourny players use it. I can't think of it's name off the top of my head.
