3bet larger preflop to like $3.75. Bet flop larger because his range is wide (since you 3bet so small) and he is likely to have flush draws, straight draws, pair + draw, and overpairs in his range. And I don't think there is any reason to check the turn. Just go ahead and bet turn.

Roller has a little shameless behaviour in the past
No way am I checking the Turn.

I would suggest playing it more aggressive from PreFlop to Turn.

Flop > You make him pay if he wants to draw.
Turn > Make him pay even more. If he has the Flush at this point he calls or raises and you know where you stand.
If not you take it down right there.

Just my thoughts.

Good Luck with those pocket A's.

Cheers for that guys. Also do I over-bet the flop with community cards like that? then carry on with a larger bet on the turn?
