Hi all,
I just read Doyle Brunson's book and I found it very inspiring. However, I would not be THAT aggressive. Am I wrong or the way he used to play is not quite recommended nowadays?
I'd be glad if you share your thoughts about it.
Cheers,
Raoni

reading the beginner's digest would probably be more helpful than doyle's book.

Doyle is one of the finest poker players of all times. Even though he doesnt share all his "secrets" and his style doesnt really suit micro-stakes- you can learn a tremendous amount from him.
Learn to think like a champ. Doyle wouldnt play like he recommends at the micro`s anyway.
Happy reading

If, after the first twenty minutes, you don't know who the sucker at the table is, it's you.

I've heard him say that the book is outdated since everyone is very aggressive these days, whereas he was one of the few aggro players at that time.

Welcome to FTR. You have to understand where Doyle was coming from. That style of play does indeed still work but only against the right set of opponents. Back then there were no Internet players and the overall style of play was much more passive. A maniacal strategy can kill games like that. That's not to say he now plays with a passive approach, he's just a bit more selective about it.
