He missed his flush and folded like a tool without even looking at the board. The other guy is a donk too - yeah lets pay a ton more rake. I hate when people do that.

I've pulled this move in the past to make someone who is unaware fold when the board is the nuts. It works en0ugh at low levels to be worth the extra rake.

If you are playing with competant opponents, I agree with you. If you think there is any reasonable chance that your opponent will fold with the nuts on the board, it's a good play.

I remember a very very strange hand a while back with a similar situation. I can't remember exactly how the hand played out, but by the river there was something like KQTxJ on the board with a relatively small pot with 4 players still in the hand and no flush possibilities. Any Ace was the nuts. On the river, with 4 deep stacks, there were several raises/reraises, everybody eventually ends up all-in. 3 players, including myself, showed an ace and split the pot 3 way. The other dufus had some hand like KT and donated all his chips to us. Very much a classic

edit: not really trying to compare the situations since they are very differnet, I just thought it was funny.

the extra rake is so small in the long run, i push every time. i got someone to fold on an 8888A board once, and they'd put like half their stack in. hilarity.
i betcha that i got something you ain't got, that's called courage, it don't come from no liquor bottle, it ain't scotch

and, one time on like a 88884 board, somebody said like "all-in" and one guy pushed, then someone else called, and someone else asked "kicker counts right?" and then the guy who pushed said "what?" and the first pusher had a king no ace. hahaha loser
