I saw dwarfmans post in the "what does your screen look like while you play" thread and noticed he has show, dont show buttons. Ive always considered these a waste of time so i keep auto muck on. I understand that occasionally you may want to show a really crazy bluff to some poor young impressionable nits to destroy your image and get better paid layter so my question is do you automuck your hands, or do you occasionally show them?
If it turns out all you guys are getting paid off with horrible images after showing i might consider turning it off.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

Yes I'd say I've shown about 3 hands in my last 20,000

Only reason I ever show is if a table goes really tight on me I'll raise and c-bet with 72o and show it so people will stop respecting my raises. Its very seldom I feel the need to do that though.

I'd show down bluffs on any table (exept tornies where you want the folds). You can't have too many people call your nuts.

I almost always muck. No need to give out extra information. The only time I show is if I want to change my image.

Aside from the recent gauntlet game I played in, I very rarely show my cards. When I do, there has to be a very good reason for doing so.. which doesn't happen often. Raising + c-betting with trash and showing to try to worsen my image isn't a good enough of a reason for me.

I like to show from BB when it's folded to me and I have a really good hand. Reinforce their weak, fearful tendencies. The only other time I will show is when I am "chain stealing" and catch a big hand.

I play 90% SNGs so there is really no good reason to cultivate a wild image, but I often want to look tighter than I am (or tighter than I will be...)

In ring games I never show anything, but in sngs/MTT's I always keep that option open, mostly to show that I'm not stealing with crap.

I don't automuck, though the only times I show are on pure, stone cold bluffs (i.e. when I raise 72 or 32 off for the advertising value of taking down the pot and showing) and bluffs in very large pots. I like letting my opponents know that I'm more than capable of making a move, as it helps a lot in getting my hands paid off.

No, but I almost never showdown hands unless there's a good reason for it.

I automuck. Having to click to not show becomes tiring and it slows down the game when I'm too lazy to even do that and just sit there until my cards muck. And in tourny's when heads up and your opponent disconnects you lose out on some blinds.
