6 handed game and you are MP1 and are delt QJo, what is your opening play if table is
a) tight-passive
b)tight-aggressive
c)loose-passive
d)loose-aggressive
pre-flop?
Tight here means that table has <30-35%VPIP and aggressive means that there is some 3-betting PF.

Does your play change if you are CO with QJo and UTG has limped?

1) Raise

2) No

How did I do?
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

I raise 1a & 1c. I limp 1d. I fold 1b.

I raise 2a, 2c, & 2d. I may fold 2b, but likely raise. All raises will be a variation of 4x. I will c-bet most missed flops that look dangerous to opponent, but safe to me.

30-35% VPIP isn't that tight IMO. I routinely see flop percentages in the high 20's, and that includes blinds, not just VPIP.

I like the idea of this post though.
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.

1a + 1b i would raise, they are tight, you can knock out most hands with a good raise here. against a loose-passive limp, cheap flop, probably a cheap turn if you want it too. against loose aggressive, i would probably fold 3/4 the time, and raise 1/4 the time.

I think the only situtation I play this with an UTG limper is the loose passive or tight passive, but against tight passive I only go ahead with 2 pair or better, and even then with caution. loose passive i would raise, tight passive just limp.

Who is UTG? Is he a tight aggressive on the tight aggressive table? If so why did he limp? Etc. Need more info.

This should be fun since I'm an idiot.

Is it a tournament? or ring game?
If tournament, what stage in the tournament?
What are the blinds?
What is the respective chip count for each player relative to the blinds?

Not to be a pain, but this would influence how I play the hand in relation to style of the table...

This is a cash game scenerio. That's why it's in the cash game forum. Don't mean to sound sarcastic. Many numerous apologies and three whacks from the purse of a russian hooker to me.

Raise in all scenarios and raise if someone has limped in front.

d)loose-aggressive - Call
