EDIT: Didnt see that these were your first too hands, so disregard what I said about Prof_Jack getting a read on your image, either way I still think these were both played incredible weak tight

I dont really play cash games, but I still dont see how these hands were played correctly. What hands are you worried about your opponent having that beat you on the first hand? The second hand confuses me even more, I feel like you probably had an incredibly weak tight image at your table and Prof_Jarc took advantage of that. This is a spot I would call all day, the flop has all unders and 2 suited cards. I couldnt put a certain hand on my opponent in this situation, because that is such a huge overbet, what hand that beats you would play it this way? Most beginners overvalue TPWK, here you have an overpair and TPGK and you fold to a sign of aggression. Simply because an opponent raises you doesnt instantly mean they beat you, ask yourself what hand would make the plays that they made and try to put them on a range and then see how you perform against that range, I cant think of any ranges really that would beat you here on either hands.

On a sidenote, what is your bankroll? Since this is in the beginners forum I will assume you are just starting out, unless you started out with a $250 BR and are comfortable with only 10 Buyins then I would suggest playing at lower limits to get comfortable

if you keep playing 25nl 6-max with an 80 dollar bankroll you are going bust ASAP. stop immediately, move down in limits.

The first two hands you posted are bad to very bad. You need a cushion (aka bigger bankroll relative to buy-in) to practice playing.
i betcha that i got something you ain't got, that's called courage, it don't come from no liquor bottle, it ain't scotch

i'm playing 0.10/0.25 nl 6-max

I'm still "ahead". i have lost most of my money on 3 hands... in the past week.

I know $100br is not a big deal to most people. But for me being pretty new....it is to me..

BTW, Thank again to everyone that has offered me advice/redicule.. I am sucking it up like a sponge(or at least trying too).

On the bright side...we all learn from our failure...but i would prefer to learn from success

I ordered slansky's "Hold 'em poker' and "theory of poker" tonight.

i think you misunderstood my post.

I am not saying make your bankroll bigger, I am saying make your buy-in smaller. If you play .1/.25 NL with 80 bucks, the odds of you losing that money are HUGE, even if you are playing well. Find a site that offers .05/.1 or lower.

You might just win and make it continuing to play 25nl, but you're playing russian roulette with your money.

It is GREAT that you are receptive to advice though. A lot of new people come in here and double up twice and think that they are gods gift to poker, not listening to a thing, then a week later they come back sobbing over their amazing boom and bust...

Whyd you cash out? And there are tables with limits lower than that, I think it would be a good idea to play at like .02/.05nl

didn't know what site you played at.

party offers lower $ tables in the beginner's section. you can play there for like 40 days or something like that. You can play there, or move to paradise if you know they offer lower.

You got your money in preflop, but why are you only min-reraising him? you should be raising him in larger increments
