So I see you decided on 200nl after being repeated told you aren't properly rolled amirite (cuz I know I am here)? You get no advice from me, cuz as far as I can see, you are on a one way trip towards bustotown. Have fun.

Hm. Well i was playing .25/.50 ... The players are so bad there though. I lost a few 100 there.. on some major sucks outs I just wanted to get my roll even and I did. Then I quit instantly.. I promise I will play .25/5- untill I get to a grand.

played perfectly, nope. You got lucky he hit his 6 on the turn. Woulda been pretty funny if he had 99 and you turned a 9.

as for the players being too bad??!? wtf? i like playing against bad players. Keep moving up to chase losses and you're off to busto-town...

Please look over the above quote and tell me what's wrong with this statement??? (Hint: it's in bold letters now!!!)...

For one, you lost at 50nl (.25/.50), because you say the players are bad. And that is the reason you went to 200nl amirite?? Well that's just fucking stupid if you ask me. You want to play against bad players because they are the ones likely to make the most mistakes and the biggest mistakes, which is money in your pockets. And if you couldn't beat 50nl your gonna have a hard time beating 200nl. Your little "getting your roll even" was what we in the poker world like to call positive variance. Because, from the way you played this hand you aren't gonna be good enough to beat 200nl over a significant sample size.

And now let's examine the last bold part... "I'm gonna play .25/.50 until I get to a grand"... yah that part... Hmmm.... I'm pretty sure it was said that you need to have 20 buyins or more for the level you want to play... And in the other thread it said you were starting with $600. So.. Let's do a little math shall we??? $600 / $50 = Notfucking20! In fact it is only 12. And this takes into account the fact that you are a proven winner at previous stakes, which you aren't. So even playing 50nl with $600, there is a very good chance you will meet the mayor of Bustotown, LuckySlevin. Can you tell him I said hi btw? Thank you.

But yeah like I said, if you play out of your roll I will refrain from looking at your threads because you won't be here long.

Let me break it down for ya.

First off, 100bb is the equivalent to 1 buyin. The reasoning is that is the maximum amount you can buyin on the table with (barring some stakes on certain sites). This is the people refer to stakes as say 25nl, or 50nl. Because on a .10/.25 table the max buyin is $25. And on a .25/.50 table the max buyin is $50.

The general rule of good bankroll management is 20+ buyins for the stakes you want to play. That is you need 20 100bb buyins. So if you want to play 25nl you would need 25 * 20 = $500. And imho 20 buyins is a little aggressive over 25nl, meaning it would be best to have more.

So at this time you are only rolled for 25nl (.10/.25 stakes). You wouldn't be rolled for 50nl (.25/.50 stakes) until your roll is $1000, but that would be cutting it close and it would be better to wait for it to be higher.

You wouldn't be playing $1/$2 (200nl) until around 5k-6k BR imo. And then only if you good enough to have beaten 100nl over a good sample size.
