I don't know quite what to do about defending and stealing blinds. I fold my small blind to a steal 92% of the time and my big blind 85% of the time. I'm only attempting to steal the blinds about 15% of the time. I used to defend and attempt to steal more but i was just leaking cash even faster then just folding. folding is saving me money at the moment but it doesn't help me get better. I guess the questions i am asking myself are.
What range should i be trying to defend my blinds with?
What range should i be trying to steal blinds with?
Is there anything else i can do to fix this?
edit for spelling

I've been basing my hand selection alot off Renton's guide but when it comes to the blinds, seeing a 90% fold rate in the big blind seems like too much to of a fold rate to me, but opening up seems to lose me money faster. I've looked through alot of those stickies but i can't seem to find something im exactly looking for.

this response is only applicable if you play full ring, not shorthanded.
until you are really comfortable playing post flop, especially out of position with a moderate strength hand, don't bother defending your blind light. focus more on stealing blinds. that way you have position if called.
I like to watch the three players to my left to see if they are likely to call/raise light out of the blinds. if they aren't, then I steal with virtually any two cards. I would prefer to have somewhat connected cards, or at least 1 high card, but if my opponents are going to be folding preflop, my cards aren't that important. I steal button and cutoff pretty well the same, and slightly less from the highjack (1 off the cutoff, which is 1 off the button).
To start off, I would suggest that if it is folded to you in the button/cutoff and the players behind you aren't calling with any two cards, raising with about 40% of your hands. choose the ones that you feel more comfortable playing postflop on the off chance that you have to.
I generally raise any two playable cards if folded to me in LP unless the players behind me have given me reason not to. ie. they call too much or raise too much.
blind stealing is really something that you have to work on and get a feel for when it is a good time and when it isn't.
