I figured his flop bet could have been made with ATC and thought a call might be enough to scare him into giving up the hand later if I made a move at the pot. I wasn't banking on the gutshot when I called the flop bet.

Now, this guy went on a trip yelling at me in the chat for about 10 minutes after this. Still not sure if it was an act or if he was serious. But in any case, he was throwing out all the classic lines like "Do you have a college degree?" and "Fish like you are the reason it's getting harder and harder to make money. F*cking suckouts!" and on and on and on. I figured it might be an act, but decided there was little harm in playing along and trying to put him on tilt.

I've had this one other time in the past, and I doubled through that person. Figured it might be worth a try again. This guy left before I got the chance though. So, my question is, is it worth the time and energy to bitch back trying to put them on tilt? Or is it just a waste of keystrokes?

What do you do when someone starts ragging on you for winning a pot they felt belonged to them?

Calls wont really scare people in my experience! In this hand I dont mind the call on the flop once you've got it heads up, he will get passive on the turn without the Ace or let you know he has it. Some people may say this is the Ace every time and just fold tho...

Once you hit bet it! There is .80 in the pot i'd bet .50. If he calls that I value bet the river for about 1.25 or so. If he re raises me at any point he likes his hand so I probably just push or make it 3 times his bet depending how the table is playing.

When someone gets bitchy at me I just ignore it, that nearly tilts the as much. There is nothing more fun than when someone wants to make the game personal.

Anyone that tilts on loosing a buck fifty, because they can't "make money," might want to take up recycling bottles and cans.

I think that's what OP was saying. That the guy will slow down without a big hand, hence "being scared."

I think the line was fine, but not because we were ahead. I think if we hit one of our outs we can usually get a lot of value.33

saw a guy just last night berate another when his KK got cracked.

he raises with his KK, and gets called by A3o. the A hits the flop, and KK goes nuts with the aggression. i pray to myself that the villain had an A. he did, and KK says, "you superfish, how can you call my pf raise w/ A3OS!! you are why poker is a dumb game. you can never call a raise w/o it being suited."

i say, "well, at least someone knows the soooted rule. dooley noted."

i usually say that when i "note them up." i doubt they catch on when its buried in another statement.

grab your pole and get your hook in the water boys, the fish are biting!!

I posted the hand history and gave my thoughts on the hand just as a setup for the question. I wasn't particularly looking for HH review. Really I wanted to point out where he said he would "fucking kill me" if I hit the straight...then called my bet.

So for those of you who don't say anything when someone gets agro with you in the chat, do you think you might be missing the chance to push your opponent into making more mistakes?

Say "ty moron" or "ty retard"
add "you made a retarded call tyvm ppl like u is y i play poker" for added effect
then watch him push against your PFR with K8o and enjoy!

Your flop play was standard. nothing out of line at all. And if a person can't beat 10NL I'm surprised he can type at all (well Forest Gump can certainly beat HIM at IQ test)
